I’m trying to play the #FrontMission (Japan) #ROM with the English fan translation patch. Here's what I’ve done so far:

✅ Verified that the original ROM matches the required hash (using the correct Japanese version).

✅ Applied the English patch successfully (IPS/BPS).

✅ Manually padded the ROM to exactly 4MB / 4,194,304 bytes, as required by the patch instructions.

✅ The #game loads and plays the intro, but when I press Start, it loops the intro again.

✅ If I let the intro run all the way, I can reach a menu, but selecting "Start Game" just resets to the intro.

✅ Using #RetroArch with various #SNES cores (#Snes9x, #bsnes, #bsnesmercury).

✅ Tried deleting save states and reloading from scratch.

Any ideas?

This is hands down the best #ROMhack I have seen in a while. Dude, ported #Metroid on the #NES to the #SNES. He also added MSU-1 support with near CD quality orchestra soundtrack. He added some quality of life improvements such as a map etc. This is a must play if you have a #SD2SNES or #FXPakPro flashcarts. It also works with the latest version of #SNES9X. Never had the opportunity to play any #NES or #SNES games back in the day, only #C64 and #Amiga games, so today's #retrogaming experience is Super #Castlevania IV on the #snes9x #emulator.

It's supposedly one of the easier castlevania games, but I was never a controller guy, and my thumbs hurt even before I started, so it isn't going all that well.

There's something special and doubly nostalgic about emulating SNES on the Wii 🥹

Got to the point with my Linux Mint install that I was able to get Steam working! Same with my old Snes9X rom emulator. Unfortunately, I failed to get either WINE or DosBox to successfully run or install my original Command and Conquer CD set. Oh well, can't win 'em all. I can now game like it is 2010!

Finally beat this bad boy and I can move onto the next adventure. SMT2 wouldn't be everyone's cup of tea but I loved it because every play session and each leg of progress felt like going through a D&D module. The art style is pretty bitchin' too!

#Kandowontu 's #Starfox EX for the #SNES might just be the greatest feat of #game engineering I've ever seen. I hesitate to call it a mere #hack at this point, it transcends that by light years. Technical wizardry. If you're a big fan of Starfox and you're not up to speed, you're seriously missing out. It's a doddle to patch and runs like a dream through #snes9x

Downloaded some #SNES ROMs from the Internet Archive and ran them through #Snes9x under #OpenBSD. Finally able to play a game I've wanted to play for the longest time, Out of This World (aka Outer World, aka Another World).
