Hey #UnrealEngine code plugin devs, I'm releasing the code I use for my plugins to make #UE4 & #UE5 support a lot easier.

Includes better macros for checking engine version and automatic prebuild scripts to work around the preprocessor limitations in UnrealHeaderTool, allowing you to `#if` out blocks of code that contain Unreal "magic macros". This allows you to maintain backwards compatibility without forsaking modern Unreal features. Includes installation instructions and examples of using it.

Feedback is appreciated! I'd also appreciate Linux users to verify it works for them.

Set Skeletal Mesh Component and my procedural control rig do NOT get along, freezing the editor the moment the node is called in blueprint.

It does say it erases existing animation data; my controlrig probably isn't too happy with that :p

This means no quick and lazy "active ragdoll" for my creatures just yet :blackdragnmelt:

#TIL that sometimes you have to run "Clean Solution" in your IDE to fix build weirdness and no amount of trashing Saved/Binaries/Intermediates or regenerating solution will save you. I was doing some Linux cross-build stuff and kept on getting generated code where casing on include paths didn't match what was on the filesystem. UBT is definitely caching something somewhere outside the project. I have no idea where, but "Clean Solution" fixed it. D: #UnrealEngine #UnrealDev #cpp #Programming #GameDev

So I've got this plugin that compiles all the way back to UE 4.22 (yaknow, for funsies) and it is real satisfying to run my Package.bat script to build the plugin for every combination of version/target/configuration/platform and see all of them succeed. xD #GameDev #UnrealEngine #UnrealDev
