Personally, I don't subscribe to this notion. The main reason is that deciding now about whether or not to impeach Trump in future years is ridiculous. Jumping the gun is still jumping the gun. First, we need to see whether Democrats win control of the House of Representatives. (Odds are looking quite good.) Second, we need to see what is the makeup of the Senate and what are the chances, if any, of getting a conviction. Then we would be ready to work toward a decision.
Republicans under Trump and Mike Johnson have done very little that is productive. If we are returned to power, we ought to be thinking first and foremost about getting work done for the American people.
