A #WritingTip: remember no story really exists before you start #writing it. Not even in your own head. You're not transcribing a preexisting, flawless #text. What you do #write may not "sound" like the images or notions you had in mind, but that's inevitable. That's #creating. Embrace it.

Including food in your novels not only potentially activates three of the senses for your readers (taste, smell, and sight), it can also be a secret marketing tool! 🍔

If someone enjoys your story and a specific food mentioned stands out to them, they may end up trying to create that recipe in real life. Then, a person who follows the blog of that cook or baker may get curious of the source of the recipe, and pick up your book.

Think about what your bad guy is doing, plan that out, and then you know what your hero is reacting to. Until the hero has an idea of what’s going on and makes their own plan, the villain controls the plot.

You do not need advanced technology to write a novel. Well, nothing more advanced than a computer. But definitely not AI. Read why not in Chapter 4 of GHOSTWRITING NOVELS: A GUIDE FOR GHOSTWRITERS AND THE GHOSTWRITTEN.

#WritingTip

in English, using "but" negates the preceding statement. For example the sentence:

"CO2 is important but we have other levers to pull for climate action.."

...indicates that the writer is negating or dismissing the importance of CO2.

"and" works perfectly as a replacement in many cases, emphasising the inclusion of all the factors/ideas/concepts.

Use "but" for intentionally rescinding whatever you wrote just before it.
