💡 But we have a solution. Not a good one if you want my opinion but...

We can pick an orthophoto of our terrain and use it to color all our points in the lidar file. Hard time using #CloudCompare... 🏜️

At one of my previous jobs, my boss complained that he only had 128 GB of RAM and its wasn't enough. I did find that funny at the time, but now I am the guy that has 67 GB of RAM and a 64 GB-swap-file and this is what happens regularly when I close #CloudCompare 😅

There's software that is optimized, loads huge amounts of data fast and doesn't do long running tasks on the UI thread. And then there's #CloudCompare ...

Playing around with forestry #lidar #opendata (https://www.scanforest.fi/data) in #cloudcompare and #blender. Now I have to come up with an interesting way to shade/texture the point cloud, since they don have RGB info.

@balbec Autre solution, pour le LidarHD on peut utiliser #CloudCompare. Il fusionne, découpe, interpole... Il y a aussi possibilité de nettoyer la subsurface. Pour le moment, j'y suis allé à taton sans prendre de note alors je n'ai pas trop de tuto à proposer...
