専門家は、「フランスにおいて中絶の権利は多数（最近の世論調査でも80％超）に支持されているが、アメリカのように極右勢力が拡大する可能性もある。憲法上で権利と明記することにより、将来反対派がこの権利を取り上げることを難しくする」とその意義を説明する。
