Wetstone holders in leather
-
When I got more interested in using the scythe there were just these yellow plastic holders, and those were not something I wanted to use. So I made my first prototypes in leather, and thought that maby there were more people who might want to use these as well.
-
Now this is the secont time I make these for Slåttergubben, and this time all of them has a secure place on the cup for the allen key.
Very handy when you need to peen the blade or adjust it.
-
Thanks to @norrskapt for a very nice cooperation in figuring out the final shape, and the wet moldings who made the job far more easier!

I have been working on these for the last couple of months with some other things. It started with something I wanted to have and use myself, and then I got to make 30 pieces of scythe sheaths for Slåttergubben.

Been an interesting year
-
I have been on a few courses and met some nice new people. Even helped out and done some carpentry, and hopefully I can continue with that this year as well.
-
I have done quite some crafts and especially these past month. Some nature photography but not quite as much as it used to, but thats just how it is.
-
Have done a few travels with my sister and she/ we have come far with her house renovation. Even managed to finish the fasade on the big garage
-
This year are starting very different from earlier years, but I think I can manage to make this one quite good and interesting either way
-
Happy new year 🎉

I have waited very impatiently for these to fully dry. I have not used oil paint on wood before, so this was an experiment for sure.
-
I have not really tried shipcarving before either. But sometimes when you have an idea you just have to go for it. I rather try then think I cant do it, othervise I will never learn 🙃
-
The idea from the beginning was smaller cuttingboards, but I guess you can use them as smaller trays or just be placed somewhere to look nice.
Not perfect but I like them. Very nice pieces of birch witch are lindseed oiled.

Had the good luck of finding this very nice piece of birch in my stash 🌳
-
Got a question if I could make a cuttingboard with this persons own design. It was an interesting challenge, testing my basic shipcarving skills. Three flower petals in each corner, and even the groove got cut out by hand. Its probably not something that alot of people have done what I know, but I came to quite like the style of it. The cutting board turned out really nice!
-
Thankful for the trust 🙂

17/11/25: Today I used up the rest of a second bag of cocciopesto. I finally closed the gaps in the wall with a mortar mix of cocciopesto:promptcement at 2:1, plus some hemp shives. This should buffer the temperature difference between cold and warm, and reduce condensation thanks to the improved insulation of the wall. The cocciopesto in the cement makes the mortar more elastic and more permeable to vapor, while the hemp shives provide slightly better insulation. The romancement offers better adhesion to the stone/iron and allows greater layer thicknesses to be applied in a single pass.
The good thing about 100% natural mortar/cement is that you can dispose of the leftovers in the environment without hesitation. It can even improve the soil because no artifical and plastic additives are used.

Renewed copper and brass water pipe embedded in a house wall and exposed around the fittings which are sealed with hemp. A small red shut-off valve is visible on the left side. Parts of the housewall is newly plastered with a redbrown mortar, while the rest of the wall is plastered with a white lime mortar.

Threw some pots as a team building activity. It was hard.

Some raw pots, recently turned with little labels identifying the maker.Little bowls and a plate made of raw clay.Picture of me, an old lady with frizzy hair, in front of a pottery wheel, trying not to tear out the wall of my bowl again. You can't tell on the picture but I am covered in clay from head to toe. Even had to wash my phone case.

New pendant I've made. Bird is carved from boxwood, the branch is bubinga, and the leaves are boxwood as well, mounted to an ebony blackwood base. Available from my Etsy shop (UK only).

A carved wooden pendant, depicting a small bird perched on a branch, with two small leaves coming below off a small shoot below the bird. The bird is caved from a pale yellow boxwood, and is in side view, looking back over it's shoulder. Mounted to a black wood oval shape piece of wood. Resting on the fingertips of a hand, with a grey skate background.
