Recently I got an old aftermarket smartphone and decided to install /e/OS on top of it. This was my first time interacting with the OS and it turned out really nice: It seems based on LineageOS with couple of own apps and built-in MicroG (similar to CalyxOS).
What was really unexpected tho is that banking and auth apps work without issues regardless the phone bootloader is unlocked 😲

Pensando muy seriamente en migrar mi fairphone 5 a /e/OS pero el hecho de que no funcione android auto con microG me hace pensármelo todavía mucho...
A lo largo del año hacemos bastantes viajes y no poder acceder a la música y a la navegación en la pantalla del coche la verdad es que es un problema

E fu così che, giusto perché la curiosità era troppa, piallai il mio Redmi Note 10 Pro equipaggiato con #lineageos per provare #e_OS.

Di primo acchito posso dire che avere un telefono in mano che non ha niente di Google da una certa soddisfazione.

Ich muss mir einfach mal etwas von der Seele schreiben:
Im April 2024 habe ich mir ein #Fairphone gekauft; ein #Fairphone5. Vor längerem (3/4 Jahr etwa) habe ich hier auch #/e/OS ( @e_mydata @murena ) installiert um #Google von meinem Gerät zu verbannen und etwas für meinen #Datenschutz zu tun.
Nun komme ich wiederholt in mein WLAN nicht mehr rein. Ein Gast-WLAN kann ich an meiner Fritzbox einrichten und auch nutzen. Aber warum plötzlich mein WLAN nicht mehr?
Dieses passierte wiederholt nachdem ich mein Fairphone einen Tag zuvor als Hotspot verwendete.

Jetzt kann ich aus der App Lounge auch keine Apps mehr installieren. Betrifft FlixTrain, Trainline und jede andere App...
Benachrichtigungen (zB. #Molly ( #Signal ), #Threema ) funktionieren auch nicht mehr richtig.

Inzwischen ist der Ärger so groß, dass ich Android wieder installieren werde. Also alles wieder Einrichten...
Aber ich kann mich auf mein Gerät so nicht verlassen und das nervt!

Context: I perform touchless payments through the Curve app on #e_OS. While most payments work well, 5% of payments are refused with this error message here above. Curve team says that the payment is refused by the merchant's terminal and they can't help since they're not getting info from the merchant. I already got that error message with Mastercard and VISA debit cards, emitted by several banks, but only with Curve on #eOS (never with Samsung Pay on Android stock)

Au sujet des dramas sur #eOS #e_OS On sait que c'est un logiciel créé par des branquignols bidouilleurs du dimanche en tout cas depuis 2023. J'ai rien contre les bidouilleurs sauf dans le cas d'une activité professionnel/expertise. C'est même plus la poutre c'est l'arbre dans l'œil là. N'oubliez pas qu'un téléphone c'est au minimum 2 caméras et un micro. Et ceux qui n'ont rien à cacher, sortez à poile ou arrêtez de mentir.

Je crois que le cœur du problème c’est que GrapheneOS veut faire un téléphone hyper sécurisé contre des potentielles attaques extérieures. Quitte à faire tourner les services Google dans un environnement contrôlé. Et à ne recommander que les téléphones Google.

/e/OS cherche juste à ne pas envoyer des données utilisateurs à Google.

La mission est donc complètement différente ! Les projets répondent à différentes menaces.

On my phone, the app shows a blank screen at startup since last week, and there is nothing to do to fix it (reinstall, cache clearing, authorizations reset...)

@Nic Difficile à dire à l'avance, il faudrait un retour de qqn qui a déjà installée cette app sur #e_OS et qui peut confirmer qu'elle fonctionne.

Perso, l'app de la banque postale fonctionne sur mon fairphone + /e/os, sans rien faire de particulier (je n'ai pas de compte google activé sur le tel).
