I have recently invested in an ice cream machine, so this year I shall make at least one batch of plum sorbet/ice cream.

Apple was helping his mother bake bread for the first time.
He watched as she mixed flour, sugar, water, yeast. She kneaded the dough, and then let him try.
‘That’s it. Press it down with one hand and then the other. The you can mush it together.’
A few minutes later she said that was enough. It was time to let the bread prove.
‘How does the dough rise?’ Apple asked.
‘Well, the yeast #ferments from the sugar.’
Apple looked puzzled.
‘The yeast eats the sugar and lets out gas. The gas makes the dough rise.’
‘Bread rises from yeast farts?!’ Apple was thrilled.

This baby has barks: Sassafras, Birch, and Cinnamon.
It has some roots: Sarsaparilla, and ginger.
We even throw in some vanilla and sugar with lil' bit of that FINE #kansas tap water.
Lowkey excited since I haven't made any in a while.
The date-wine #ferment slowed down a bit overnight, I was hoping for something more vigorous but with the heater off overnight the cooler temperature seems to have had some impact. In the time-lapse you can actually see the ferment liven up as it approaches the end of the video, this is in line with us getting up, using the room, and the heater going on. It was 17C in here earlier and is now 20.1C.

Trying a new blend of #ferment with Napa cabbage, red cabbage, carrot, white onion, and garlic. Happy we've finally hit properly cool weather when the ferments are slower but way more flavorful.
