A trashed NVME on the little Optiplex I was using as a hamshack desktop means I'm finally fully committing to Linux on the thing when the new drive shows up!

I did find the serial port module for it on eBay though, so it'll have local RS-232 for rig control on it, at least.

I'm really hoping the weather holds up enough this weekend for me to set up my Buddipole in the back yard. I REALLY want to use my new General privs on some other bands. I've only got a 10m antenna on my shack tower at the moment, so being warm=10m in the winter.

Strange sounding signals last evening, on 40m CW. Very raspy and chirpy. Like long path polar path DX, only it was... EU.

Why 40? Bands above utterly dead at 2100z. Even the RBN ignored me. Except a stubborn 30m VU2 skimmer.

Why 40? No 80/160 RF radiating devices mounted right now.

2025 resolution on track: spend more time in the #hamshack doing #amateurradio !!!

Ahhhh! My new 10m antenna came in, and I got it put together. This weekend will be the mast mounting with a few friends and we'll be giving it a try. It's a PAR Antennas HF-28 Omni-Angle. So can't wait to get this mounted this weekend and try it out!
