#handleds

says:

The is aimed to enthusiasts. People who are looking for $1,000 device know what they're getting into.

The white one, however, my suspicion is that it will be returned a lot. If it's an Xbox product, it has to have an Xbox experience.

We'll see how successful it was when the drop the number of units sold. Hint: they won't.

«Believe me, everyone will be pissed off to buy a $1,000 that cannot play »

Or, in other words, why you would spend $600 on an when you can get a at $400 (or less second hand) that also can't play GTAVI.

Also, not subdizing the shows knows the handled is not a success.

If they were, they would have bet their chips on it, from marketing to support. You would have seen it $499/$799.

Instead, they went the sticker slap. And when the 2 comes around, people who bought this will be seen as clowns.

Xbox new consoles are Dead On Arrival.

- : $1,000
- : $600

The $600 unit is basically a with a price hike.

The $1,000 is a unit that performs way worse than a laptop RTX 4050.

...And none of the plays Xbox console games! Are you serious!?

$1,500 for RTX 4060M levels of performance!?

This is exactly why I'm cheering up & partnership. It's time for to face up real competition on the iGPU and SoC side.

Z2 Extreme handleds:

- Too expensive
- Little performance gains
- Tech from two years (Zen 4 + RDNA 3)
- To be obsolete in two years.

An RTX laptop reign supreme I guess.

The bane of the Steam Deck is .

and are power efficient but not enough to move games that are badly optimized as UE5, like .

makes the case for powerful handleds, but at that point, why not just get a laptop that will be a better value? Even the cheapest RTX will beat any handled any time.

Xbox Ally prices leaked!

- $549 - Xbox Ally (Zen 2/RDNA2)
- $899 - Xbox Ally X (Zen 4/RDNA3.5)

youtube.com/watch?v=-7ELGDYCTrg

The cheaper Xbox Ally is basically a Steam Deck with a price hike. The Xbox Ally X price won't be enticing once other competitors appear.

I expect someone dumps the Xbox Ally OS for desktop PC. That would be a immense win.

For much as some people say the is starting to show its age...

...there is still no comparable hardware at that price point.

You're only getting $800+ handleds because these more powerful and consuming, not because these are "the next bing thing".

I can bet is still working with for a custom made successor.

You can't play your console games in the ? Games you paid for? What the fuck???

Yeah, Xbox console platform is pretty much dead. I'm waiting the obituary.

Another opportunity to recommend the ? Of course. Or an RTX laptop if you have the money.

$1,500 for an AMD 385+ handled?

I mean, I'm excited to see the Radeon 8050S and 8060S on more products, but at that price is DOA. You can get a full laptop with an RTX 5070 Ti on discount for that money.

I'm tired of saying the same: both and are overpriced.

Sorry guys, but the doesn't look like a huge leap in performance.

Guess we will have to wait until AMD gets their shit together for and , hopefully on TSMC 3nm, to see if there are big performance leaps or not.

There is a reason why Valve hasn't released a Steam Deck 2, and this is the answer to that question.

Still haven’t seen a that’s worth the money aside from the .

I believe the and other handleds have taken the spotlight. For $500 you can get a decent portable gaming device.

From $1,000 you get into entry-level gaming laptop territory and that’s it. There is no room for Mini PC anymore above $300, where you start to find second hand Mac Mini. The 128GB HX 390 is niche.

I don't see a market for $1,000 handleds, no way.

$700 was already pushing too much. Most devices offered a shit experience for $300 more than the base Steam Deck, or even the $549 Steam Deck OLED.

For $1,000 you can get a $400 Steam Deck and a decent second hand $600 MacBook M1 for extreme battery life.

It's AMD to blame? Will the ($800~) have a chance?

Consoles can be handleds, but not all handleds can be consoles.

An is a handled, but is a tablet.

A is a handled, but also a console.

A is a handled, but also portable computer.

So, the would be...

The leaker eXtas1s (first time hearing him, but media say is reliable) got the price from two retailers.

October release date:
- $499 / €599 - White - Zen2/RDNA2/16GB-6400/512GB
- $799 / €899 - Black - Zen5/RDNA3.5/24GB-8000/1TB

The $499 Xbox Ally looks like trash against the Steam Deck, tho.

Just noticed first-party handled has been cancelled, which makes sense why the heavy push for the .

thegamepost.com/microsoft-xbox

My guess is that there is more money to be made licensing/subsidising Xbox-compatible handleds than investing on their own hardware.

"This is an Xbox" vibes.
