Our PR, initially created in 2021, has recently been merged! It will no longer be needed to use iperf3 with "mptcpize run" on both sides to get MPTCP support, and it is enough to add -m only on the client side!

ok, the udp was solved by specifying bigger #iperf3 `-b` , but single tcp connection remains clamped and only bandwidth use scales only with `-P` setting :/

peculiar problem, #wireguard between #mikrotik #routeros and #netgate 2100 #pfsense. R->P is fully saturating the link ( 50Mbps ) while P-R is at its 1/100th ( link is 500Mbps ) and it barely does 5Mbps. Thats TCPv6. UDPv6 is only doing 1Mbps. Tests with #iperf3

Ich hab schon an meiner #NAS gezweifelt, warum ich mit nur so ~50MB/s kopieren konnte...

Aber stellt sich heraus, der LAN Port in meinem Monitor, der per USB-C ans Laptop geht ist offensichtlich Crap.

#iperf3 hats belegt -.-

Die Verbindung zu einem anderen Gerät in meinem Netz ist so wie ich das erwarte...

I remember Ryan & Nate working heavily with me - for free - in 2019 to help me get the best performance out of Nebula in my lab. This post builds on that work, and also answers a lot of confusion around VPN performance and tools like iperf3.

#iPerf3 for Windows is...a mystery. Sending UDP packets one way works enormously well. Using -R for reversing the role of server and client brings me 30% packet losses at 40 Mbps.

Yet the Windows-own logging (Performance Monitor) does not show any packet losses, so it must be an application-site loss.

Ok, some more info. Decided to do some basic #benchmark. Run #iperf3 on it. I was able to get gigabit against my desktop. No routing, I have just one network card. But I tried #veth interfaces and benchmarked throughput between two namespaces and got to 7 gigabits. #cryptsetup benchmarks just #aes-cbc and claims 40MiB/s for 128b and 30MiB/s for 256b which sounds like no accelerator is used and support for other ciphers might be missing from the kernel. Still using official firmware - no time to reinstall yet.

Installed a new Wifi7 AP (access point). It's Unifi U7 Pro from Ubiquiti. I had to replace a broken AP, and they just started to sell it. It was reasonably priced too, 165€+VAT from Ubiquiti EU store. I have no Wifi7 devices, but the new one is great Wifi6/5/4 AP!

My phone is happily surfing though the new 6Ghz band. I quickly tested throughput with iperf3 to local server, and the phone transfers 700..900Mb/s via 80Mhz wide channel. I could configure 160 or 320Mhz wide channels, but i just don't need that much bandwidth.

All old devices, including some old 2.4GHz-only devices, connected without trouble to the new AP.
