Found an incredible indie app that's a #Safari extension for #iOS called "Sheriff". It blocks JavaScript just like the desktop browser extension #NoScript, and Sheriff is probably the only free extension that can do this on iOS Safari right now. Of course it has a lot of pro features, well worth trying.

why is #firefox still not able to block #autoplay on websites ? It's a waste of data volume, which can only blocked by #noscript

Wie ich herausgefunden habe, kann dieses Pop-Up mit dem Addon NoScript blockiert werden. Mit dem Nachteil, dass bei manchen Webseiten auch andere Dinge nicht funktionieren. Für technisch eher wenig versierte Benutzer also nicht unbedingt zu empfehlen...

Has the NoScript browser extension changed any policy about loading webfonts even if the site is not trusted? Until ~now it showed default fonts in a site (as defined by both CSS rules and available fonts in the host) until the site was marked as "trusted," either temporary or permanent.

But this seems to have changed because I can now read a few sites with their intended custom webfonts even if I have set them to "untrusted."

Yuk, just discovered #Firefox has recently(?) added some sort of “AI Chatbot” garbage into its sidebar 🤮

Only even noticed it due to some odd “(sidebar?)” notes for various sites in the #NoScript UI (issue already logged by sbdy else + apparently fixed, so hopefully trickles down soon), which made me open the sidebar to look.

Bah, I really hate the constant churn of Ubuntu’s non-ESR Firefox almost as much as I hate the corpus regurgitators. Right, how do I disable this garbage entirely?

#noscript is pretty much essential for browsing the modern web. I'd put it just below ublock origin in terms of essential add-ons (and I only have those two typically). You have to unblock some google scripts to watch youtube so that undermines noscript a fair amount but that's where ublock steps in.

I like that lots of websites are using #Anubis now to counter scraping and (apparently) DDoS attacks as well.

Is there a way to setup #NoScript to always allow Anubis to run without also allowing the whole domain? I still want to manually confirm the domain approval but I am always ok with Anubis.

Follow-up for anyone else running into the problem of #YouTube videos stopping after one minute:

The solution is to allow javascript for google.com. (You can tell #NoScript to allow it, reload the page, then disallow it again. That should permit the video to work while still blocking Google's javascript elsewhere.)

Now the site works just fine even with #Javascript totally disabled. But if you expect to listen to my podcast using the built-in player (which is handwritten) this will not work. However I placed several <noscript> tags explaining here and there what is not expected to work without JS.

At least all the content is readable and also rendering works just fine even after stripping almost half of the original CSS.

Ein Adblocker ist genau so eine sicherheitsrelevante Komponente, wie ein Malwareschutz unter Windows. Im vorliegenden Thread wäre noch der angenehme Nebeneffekt, dass man keine #Nazi Werbung sehen muss.
