Meine Home-Infrastruktur wird so langsam.
Ziehe gerade um von Thin-Clients (Raspberry Pi war mir alles zu schwach) auf nen Mini-PC mit entsprechend RAM und CPU.
Auf einem der Thin-Clients lief vorher schon #Bacula für Backup in nem LXC-Container. Der soll jetzt #ProxmoxBackupServer werden.
Wie würdet ihr das machen? Auf dem #ProxmoxBackupServer direkt #Bacula installieren für die physischen Sachen und Server im Internet oder würdet ihr aufm #Proxmox Server eine VM/Container für #bacula machen? Oder Container oder VM auf dem Backup-Server?
Tendiere zur Direktinstallation wegen des Overheads und was will ich mit den Backup-Sachen aufm Proxmox-Server und so habe ich eine Kiste, auf der alle Backups drauf sind.
Coming back to my brother's new #HomeLab I'm trying to get his new #Proxmox Host ready. The little Beelink N100 Box got a second SSD so the #PVE Pool is now RAID1. Additionally we got him an external NVMe case for USB3 for backups via #ProxmoxBackupServer. Had to run that on the node itself, otherwise the external SSD couldn't be added as removable Datastore in #PBS. *sigh*
But finally it seems to come together. Now adding #Tailscale Client as remote support solution and tweaks for SSDs...
Wir testen gerade für einen Kunden die verschlüsselte Sicherung der virtuellen Server zu einem unserer Server. Die initiale Erstsicherung erfolgte heute per externe Festplatte, ab jetzt soll die Zuwachssicherung über das Internet erfolgen. - Basado en #Debian 12.10 ("Bookworm") con kernel 6.8.12-9 estable por defecto y kernel 6.14 como opcional.

Lots of things changed in my #homelab the last few weeks.
- Replaced the Lenovo Thinkstation E32 node
- 4 #Proxmox servers in cluster
- #ProxmoxBackupServer with qdevice
- Each server having 2x #10Gbit, one being a dedicated SAN network
- Enterprice NVMe for ZFS datastore
- Replaced all fibers in the rack with DACs
I'm seeing high temperatures in both my SFF nodes. Need to figure out a way to push some more air in. No fan headers, so I've ordered some #Noctua S-ATA to 4-pin adapter (NA-SAC5).

@dirksche Bei mir Läuft #Nextcloud virtualisiert auf #Proxmox und wird (ich glaube 3 mal täglich) auf einen #ProxmoxBackupServer gesichert.
Wegen Hardwareschaden müsste ich das Backup ein Mal zurückspielen, klappte ohne Probleme.
#ProxmoxBackupServer es una maravilla. Lo que en copias de seguridad debería ocupar 1TB, con la deduplicación me ocupa 60GB.
Mi bolsillo lo agradece enormemente cuando he de pagar #Backblaze B2.
Finally! I have a #Proxmox Backup Server. It is on the oldest and slowest #NUC.
Now the route of my #homelab backups is: Proxmox -> PBS -> NAS -> S2 cloud storage. It is time to wipe some containers and try to restore them.
PBS datastore is synced with #NAS through #rsync cron jobs.

Como es una calculadora visual, así es más fácil calcular cuánto van a durar tus copias a lo largo del tiempo y planificar tus retenciones (de copias, no de otra cosa 😜).
