🎙"#Reproducibility isn’t just about repeating results, it’s about making the #research process transparent, so others can follow the path you took and understand how you got there."
🎧Listen to our new OpenScience podcast with Sarahanne Field @smirandafield

⏳ In this 10 min episode, Sarahanne reimagines reproducibility for #qualitative research.
She addresses challenges in ethical #data sharing of transcripts, and the importance of clear methodological reporting.
It's a classic worry for #qualitative #research - do I have too many codes?

Great virtual conference on Qualitative Research from the IIQM:
#QualCoder #open #qualitative #research #curriculum is now available in beta at https://ndporter.github.io/open-qualitative-research-qualcoder/. If you use it, or have suggestions to improve, please mesage me here or open an issue on GitHub.#cc-by

I saw this book on another post - and so went and found a copy at a 2nd hand book shop…
Looking forward to lunches at work with a cup of tea and maybe a couple of rainy Sundays at home…

🖥️ We collected the #SocialMedia data from #Twitter from 2021 until 2023 and used #Rstats and #Python to perform analyses.
We used #IssueAttentionCycle framework with #qualitative and #quantitative approaches to examine how public discussions changed throughout the study period.
Despite the challenges #OpenScience for #qualitative data there is a lot of progress. Nicki Lisa Cole sees anl parallel Open Science movement at the Open Qualitative Data Symposium @vuamsterdam @OpenScienceNL
Adressing the need for better recommendations for licenses for #qualitative data. Will definitely check this resource shared from @agata at the #open #qualutative #data symposium at the @vuamsterdam @OpenScienceNL
#statstab #302 Do Quantitative and Qualitative Research Reflect two Distinct Cultures? An Empirical Analysis of 180 Articles Suggests “no”
Thoughts: Not sold on the approach, but the conclusion seems plausible.
#statstab #297 Sample sizes for saturation in qualitative research
Thoughts: A complicated (and contentious) topic for quals research.

Great article on the importance of 'interjections': I'm a big fan of them in qualitative interviews. People sometimes worry they make verbose transcription more difficult, but it's much worse to try and do without them and not give your participants any 'verbal' feedback or encouragement
