Two young women at my work went on a weekend shopping trip from #Suffolk to #Thurrock with their kids - one was driving a petrol VW Polo, the other a diesel SUV (Ford Kuga).

The lass in the diesel car wrong-laned a spiral roundabout coming off #M25 and ended up briefly going into Outer London and entering #ULEZ - she ended up with about £30 in charges but just paid them without whinging and blaming Sadiq Khan etc - there definitely seems to be a gender difference in how folk react to ULEZ (although its also the case folk round here don't always keep up with what is going on in London, a friend didn't realise where the boundary was as until last year he'd never even driven on the M25!)

From 22 April 2025, changes to Thurrock bus services by First #Essex and #Ensignbus will improve connectivity and maintain key #transport links. First Essex’s Service 200 will no longer serve #Orsett but will run hourly (Monday to Saturday) from #Basildon to #Grays via Chadwell St Mary, #Tilbury, and Little #Thurrock, replacing Ensignbus route 66. To ensure continued access for Orsett, Ensignbus Service 88 will extend from Stifford Clays, while First Essex’s Service 201 will also be extended to Orsett, with four journeys each way on weekdays. Ensignbus routes 22, 44, 73, 83, and X80 will also see timetable changes to improve reliability. Passengers are advised to check updated timetables and plan journeys accordingly.

Various streets and landmarks are labelled, with bus stops highlighted using coloured symbols. Key locations include Purfleet, Grays town centre, and the bus station, as well as hubs connecting routes to other areas. The image consists of maps and information regarding bus stations at Lakeside and Grays. The centre features an Ensignbus information centre and highlights pathways and garden areas. Below the map is a list detailing bus numbers, destinations, and corresponding bay numbers, such as Bay J for bus 22 towards Grays.

The second section focuses on Grays Bus Station, illustrated with labelled bays (1 to 8) along a curved road. Below the map is a similar list of bus services with destinations and bay numbers, such as Bay 2 for bus 22 towards Lakeside & Aveley. There is also a section about train platforms leading to London and Southend-on-Sea.

Apparently this could result in 30% reduction in business for #Felixstowe port, with fewer containers from #Maersk and ships moving to London Gateway Port at #Thurrock #Essex (I wonder if it will lessen the congestion on the #A14 ?)

Message from Hapag-Lloyd shipping company

Dear Customer, As a part of developing our network for the Gemini Cooperation, which will be launched in February next year, we have alongside Maersk reviewed all ports and terminals in our current networks During this optimisation process and our review of the Asia — Europe services, we have concluded that London Gateway is the most optimal port to serve our customers importing/exporting cargo to/from UK. This strategic decision should be seen in the light of our ambition to reduce network complexity with fewer port calls per service, and is aimed at enhancing reliability, reach, and speed for our customers. Due to this change, Felixstowe will not be a part of Maersk and Hapag- Lloyd’s shared Gemini network. The previously announced Middle East — Europe (London Gateway) and Trans- Atlantic (Southampton) Gemini services remain unchanged. Best regards,

Fen Lane in North #Ockendon near #Upminster -this point is the most Eastern part of Greater #London - 3,5 km away from the #M25 #motorway (which is not the exact border of Greater London!). Beyond this point you have crossed into #Thurrock #Essex (and are imediately greeted with a sign from the #Police warning that #ANPR cameras are in operation) #UK #Roads #Transport #Geography

I live in Grays Thurrock (it’s on the River Thames to the east of London) and I’ve just managed to tick off an item from my bucket list: I always thought I’d need to travel to Scandiwegia to catch a glimpse of the northern lights! #BucketList #NorthernLights #AuroraBorealis #Thurrock #Essex #SouthEastEngland

We #PayALotMoreForALotLess, and people know it. That’s why #Sunak’s #Tories were thrashed in these elections

Come to #Thurrock, where the #Tory council went #bankrupt, services are depleted and costs are up. People feel victims of a terrible #injustice

Labour has gained #Thurrock.

The Conservatives were in control following last year's election, but they lost control a couple of months ago after councillors were booted from the party following a budget row.

Wish the X10 #Airlink went from #Pitsea. Sadly this great service only starts at # Basildon so its hard to onto the service from #Grays, #Tilbury and other #c2c
stations - Which is a shame because its a classic useful #orbital #PublicTransport service connecting #thurrock and #essex

I think I've discovered a #PublicTransport gem. #X10 #bus from #basildon to #stanstedairport via #chelmsford - total fare £2 (yes not £20 - Two pounds!) possibly faster than #c2c into London and then #stanstedexpress out to the airport. Now how can we get this extended to #Tilbury and #Grays in #thurrock ?

After we can see some of the most disastrous effects of a lack of good audit and accountability in local govt - actions are not taken in the public interest, ordinary people suffer, those in power not held accountable (yet)

Greetings, all. Just back from a couple of days in Brighton in our trusty #EV and I have to tip my hat to #Gridserve. #ABRP suggested King's Lynn to Brighton via Sissinghurst needed two short stops: Gridserve #Thurrock and Gridserve #PeasePottage. Both were working flawlessly - plug in, tap contactless card, walk away.

First stop, a pee and a tea each, depart on 91% (more than we needed). Second stop, pee, no tea, 8 mins. Two days in Brighton, 6 mins stop at Thurrock then home. (1/2)
