I only made a couple of gifts this year- 4 catnip stuffed cotton bags and this tic tac toe game for one of my younger great nephews . I made the Xs and Os with loops for added dexterity, and back loops that hold the pieces, and it all fits into a matching drawstring bag

Na ja, spielen konnte der Kasten nicht. Keine Maschine kann spielen, dieses Vergnügen bleibt uns überlassen. Aber gewinnen konnte er, denn die perfekte Stratgie ist so einfach, dass man sie fest verdrahten oder vermutlich sogar in Form einer Murmelbahn implementieren kann — für Nîm gab es das in den Sechziger auch als Kinderspielzeug. Herzallerliebst übrigens die beeindruckensollend moderne Gestaltung im Zeitgeschmack der frühen sechziger Jahre. Schade, dass ich über die Farben nur mutmaßen kann, aber ich tippe auf gelb kombiniert mit sattem rot oder kräftigem kress, denn ich glaube nicht, dass dieses großprotzige Werbeobjekt auf einer Messe seriös aussehen sollte, statt einfach nur aufzufallen und technisch Unkundige mit seiner „Intelligenz“ bei einem Spiel zu beeindrucken. Für eine Umlaufnocke, die periodisch einen Kontakt öffnet und schließt, damit auf dem Display auch etwas blinken kann, war vielleicht auch noch Platz. Aber ich bin mir da nicht so sicher, denn Star Trek mit Spitzohr und Kirkfaust lief ja noch gar nicht im Fernsehen…

Für alle, die sich fragen, wie wohl unsere gegenwärtige Modernität in ein paar Jahrzehnten auf die Menschen wirken wird.
