Il manque le conteneur Ogg utilisé par ces codecs audio, quand ils ne sont pas utilisés dans une vidéo WebM.
Ogg n'est pas encore pris en charge par iOS. Ce sera peut-être pour le 25éme anniversaire d'Ogg ?

I still remember when #Theora was the only video codec that @wikipedia@wikis.world could use due to licensing issues. It was like three or four times larger than the then-current H.264 equivalent file, and encoding quality was questionable at best. How fast does time pass, we've since gone through #VP8, #VP9 and now #AV1 is positioning itself as the ultimate video codec, trading blows more or less evenly with H.265. Oh and don't even get me started with the #Opus audio codec! Theora will be fondly remembered by the free software community.

OggConvert was last released in 2010.
It was a Linux program written in Python and GTK and used the GStreamer framework to convert digital audio and video files into Vorbis, Theora, VP8 and Dirac. It supported outputing audio and video into OGG, Matroska and WebM containers.

When you #EncodeVideos yourselv, do you concider it importent to use a #opensource #videocodec lile #vp8 or #vp9 ? Are you willing to sacrifice encoding time to achive this over using something like #nvidia nvanc encoder?
@felix da müsste man Menschen fragen, die Expertise im Bereich #Codecs und #Kompression haben. Auf jeden Fall kann der von #BBB genutzte #VP8 Codec gerade bei niedrigen Übertragungsraten eine deutlich bessere Qualität bieten, als z.B. h264. Leider gibt es für VP8 keine Hardwarebeschleunigung, sodass die Ressourcen der Endgeräte mehr ausgelastet werden.
