4 dashes walnut bitters
2 dashes Peychauds bitters
¼ oz creme de cacao
¼ oz banana liqueur
2 oz Pot Still Lightly Aged Rum ❶

Garnish: orange twist
Method: Combine all ingredients in a mixing glass, add ice, and stir. Strain over a large rock of clear ice, express an orange peel, and garnish with it.

I whipped this up on a whim after a long summer weekend filled with activity. A storm arrived in the evening and I wanted something to go with the chill in the air. I used Doctor Bird as my base, whose funkiness gets elevated by the banana/cacao liqueur. Overall quite sweet tbh; maybe next time I'd reduce to barspoons of liqueur instead of quarter shots, or use an OP as the base spirit.

Cleared some more jungle and planted a blackcurrant.

Plus a scrawny little walnut tree that is however not doing so well and didn't produce any leaves this spring. Probably not well adapted or got spooked by the late frost surprise. We'll see if it comes to anything.

Auf dem Waldboden liegt ein Tannenzapfen, Löwenzahnblätter sind zu sehen und das angrenzende Gras. Ein Teil des Eichhörnchens ist von Blättern leicht verdeckt. Die Nuss und die Pfoten sind im Sonnenlicht zu sehen, Kopf und Rücken eher im Schatten.
