All I need is a server for Linux which will allow me to stream #music for my and my fiance phones.
So I setup #mpd and stream music to #MALP application on android.
Aaaaannndd it's bad. There is huge lag. Configuration of it is quite easy but if you never worked with deamons on Linux it's better to leave it.
If any of you know better alternatives send help. Streaming through HTTP is not an option as I have 10 sec delay on each server input...

В мане не было ничего про указание нескольких mac адресов, но тут уже гугл меня выручил. * вместо адреса делает пин, указанный после, общим для всех.
По итогу спустя три часа имеем fully functional bluetooth-колонку из старого ноута и аналогового усилителя.
Ещё приколы, с которыми пришлось столкнуться:
- Поскольку я использую Fedora Server, дрова для аудиокарты пришлось ставить отдельно (пакет alsa-firmware)
- BlueZ так же не было, надо было ставить
- У меня посредине опытов отвалилось определение аудиокарты (pacmd list-cards выдавало 0 cards found). Оказывается, при ошибке в конфиге #pulseaudio стартует, но херово и работает через жопу.
- Помимо агентов авторизации есть ещё возможность сделать trust девайса, если лень всем этим заниматься, и это решение встречается сильно чаще агентов, потому что, как правило, подключать нужно не всё подряд, а строго определённый набор устройств

It is pretty shocking how few apps have native Pipewire support. #Gapless, #Celluloid and #Haruna (modern and nice audio and video players) are all Wayland-native but rely on Pulseaudio.
Firefox supports pipewire... for webcams??
Pipewire-pulse is no real change, but for sure I can do cool snakey things with the sound stream

По итогу никакого chromecast не будет, ибо гугл всё закрыли, software эмуляторов нема (проприетарщина наше всё, нежно целую). В результате сделал из сервера bluetooth колонку, настроив #pulseaudio по arch wiki.
Осталось сделать белый список mac
адресов bluetooth устройств, чтобы соседи не могли подключиться и включить дабстепчик в 2 ночи)
В планах сделать трансляцию по wifi, пока совершенно непонятно, как и через что это делать, но я попробую дальше искать, предложение приветствуются)

I picked #Ubuntu Studio for the supposed no-hassle audio configuration after messing around with Jack & #Pulseaudio in regular Ubuntu, and the low latency I/O. I don't recall specifics wrt whether I needed #Carla or winetricks, but I remember the joy of discovering #yabridge. Most of the setup worked, but I got stranded trying to get the drag & drop part of the #EZDrummer midi clips from the #VST popup into a #DAW like #Ardour & #Reaper working. Cross-application UI interaction is apparently hard to get right with Wine on #Linux. Updating the applications involved later also gave me some trouble iirc.

I configured PulseAudio sandboxing. There are two main
ways to do that:
- run separate daemons with PULSE_RUNTIME_PATH
environment path.
- configure socket=/tmp/pulse-socket and connect to it
other clients.
I found easy way to create git patch in Gentoo:
1) ebuild libpulse-17.0.ebuild unpack
2) “git diff --no-index src/pulsecore/core-util.c

Ok, so I found what I was looking for. For some reason the fine makers of PulseAudio chose the term "Latency" for this feature, and it's specified by a pa_buffer_attr structure that gets passed to pa_stream_connect_playback(). Set this structure to get the minimum and maximum buffer size you want to use. By default the system tries to use a 2 second buffer. I set mine to 8-4k and it seems to be working perfectly now.

Working on some sound code for a Linux project. I'm using PulseAudio to deliver the generated samples to the audio device at 44100 samples per second.
I'm running into an issue where PA is trying to do fewer write callbacks with larger buffers but this means that sound events are canceling each other out before the callback invokes.
Can anyone tell me how to make PA do more frequent callbacks with smaller sample buffers?

ubuntu25.04にアップグレードするときに久しぶりに新規インストールしたら、audacityの録音がうまくできなくなって四苦八苦した。
pipewireというオーディオサーバー関連の環境が代わったらしく、結局元のpulseaudioのGUIでPavucontrol を導入して解決した。

For that I installed media-sound/apulse and reinstalled:
