I've been on Mastodon for quite some time now, but under another name. I started a new account because I decided to take a step back from world news, collapse, climate change, hunger, war, fascism and inequality.
In short less doom and gloom and a little bit of positive small scale projects that might also inspire or help others.

With this account I'll focus more on my day to day life, the things I do and make.

In the image description there is written "goblin", therefore my response (e.g. an impressive collection of antisemitic tropes can be found also in J.K. Rowling's Harry Potter saga in the sections about the goblin bank)

I think, it triggers people that are very aware about antisemitism. Not few of these believe the narrative of Katz, so I consider it important to make clear that Katz is instrumentalizing the accusation of antisemitism. But since "goblin" and "Jew" are a frequent antisemitic trope, this image does not help to erode support for the Israeli right-wing government, but confirms their narrative.

It is welcomed to criticize the actions of Israeli's right-wing-government, and even to talk about which processes and dynamics led to the current socio-political situation.

But it is important to be careful not to reproduce antisemitic tropes, especially when criticizing members of the israeli government that are clearly trivializing antisemitism for political gains.

Of course, one needs to be careful with the "communists are worse/the same as fascists". There are several ideological currents (among them, capitalism and centrism) that like this comparison very much. And that can be criticized.

But then, there is *absolutely* no need to white/redwash the authoritarian horrors that happened in the USSR.

But how on earth did we get here that with all the bad stuff that is happening you suddenly decided to want die on this hill of defending the memory of Stalin's rotten corpse?

Ja, die steigende Zahl an verschwörungstheorien und antisemitischem Mist ist ein echtes Problem und das darf gerne reported werden.

Es ist sogar so, dass Antisemitismus in den letzten Monaten einer der häufigsten inhaltlichen Gründe für Suspension von kolektiva-accounts war.

Es ist nur aber auch so, dass zB ich auch bei mir selbst hinsichtlich der Definition von Antisemitism eine Verschiebung bemerkt habe. Vor einem Jahr habe ich zB posts, die Israel des genozids bezichtigten, gelöscht weil ich dachte das wäre antisemitisch. Auch gegen die Bezeichnung als Apartheidstaat bin ich öfter vorgegangen.

Aber inzwischen ist die Realität halt nicht mehr zu leugnen und ich schäme mich dafür, dass ich mich so lange für semantische Wohlbehandlung eines Staates eingesetzt habe, dessen Regierende offen von Auslöschung sprechen während sie Kriegsverbrechen begehen..

Überlegt mal, was die Blockade von Gaza für alle Menschen dort bedeutet hat, die irgendwie von einer funktionierenden Gesundheitsinfrastruktur abhängig waren (Krebs, Dialyse, Schwangerschaft...).

Und gleichzeitig wenden wir Energie dafür auf, regen uns darüber auf wenn irgendwer auf social media diese Taten mit dem für uns falschen Begriff beschreib. Sagt etwas über unsere Prioritäten aus...

Gleichzeitig hat die "bedingungslose Solidarität mit dem Israelischen Staat" so richtig gar nicht dazu geführt dass die Welt ein sichererer Ort für Juden:Jüdinnen geworden ist.

Es ist einfach zum kotzen.

Es gibt keine einfache Lösung. Trotzdem hat mE die Linke in Deutschland hat einen ziemlich schmerzhaften Reflektionsprozess vor sich...

PD: sorry dass dieser ganze rant im thread eines nicht akzeptablen anti-israel-posts kommt. Aber wo wir uns hier grade getroffen haben musste ich das mal loswerden.

Gerade deshalb: wenn euch posts von kolektiva-accounts antisemitisch vorkommen, dürft ihr gerne reporten.Vielleicht hat das internationale Mod-team in manchen Fällen eine ander Meinung, aber manchmal stimmen wir ja offensichtlich auch überein.

Danke für die reports und die Geduld. Unser team ist über den ganzen Globus verteilt und wir entscheiden im Konsens. Das ist für hektische social media-Krisen manchmal etwas langsam, aber wir haben noch keine bessere Struktur gefunden.

Ich weiss dass der Diskurs zum Gaza-Krieg in der Deutschen Bubble etwas anders ist als in anderen Teilen der Welt.
Und dass ich mir hiermit wahrscheinlich grade hier keine Freund:innen mache.

Ich bitte nur um Reflektion:
In der israelischen Regierung sind faschistoide Menschenfeinde in wichtigen Posten (Smotrich, Ben-Gvir und mehrere andere). Sie machen inzwischen gar kein Geheimnis mehr aus ihrem Plan, die Palästinenser:innen aus Gaza zu vertreiben, und eigentlich am liebsten auszulöschen (nur internationaler Druck hindert sie daran).

Im demokratischen Leuchtturm Israel scheinen grundlegende Menschenrechte für Palästinenser:innen nicht zu gelten (see Sde Teiman und den Umgang damit in Medien und Politik).

Bis vor gar nicht langem war es in Deutschland undenkbar, davon zu sprechen dass Israel Kriegsverbrechen verübt. Oder Hunger als Waffe einsetzt. Oder dass Netanyahu die Geiseln eigentlich egal sind. Von den Stimmen, die solche Umstände in Deutschland offen kritisierten, haben nicht wenige ihre Arbeit verloren.
Inzwischen hat aber auch Deutschland die Realität eingeholt, weil es auch wirklich nicht mehr zu leugnen ist, dass IDF schreckliche Dinge in Gaza getan haben.
Dass Stimmen, die Israels Umgang mit Palästinenser:innen kritisierten, in der Vergangenheit viel zu wenig Glauben geschenkt wurde, hat auch mit der in Deutschland dominierenden Antisemitismusdefinition zu tun.
Und da müssen wir uns alle fragen, wie unsere Taten und Diskurse zu diesem Umstand beigetragen haben. Und ob der direkte oder indirekte Support für die aktuelle Israelische Regierung wirklich zu einer politischen Lösung des Nahostkonfliktes beiträgt.

EDIT: Wahrscheinlich ist es sinnvoll zu ergänzen dass ich die Massaker die Hamas verübt hat, zutiefst verabscheue. Und Antisemitismus ist ein Problem, egal von wo er herkommt.

❗️Anarchist Sergey Romanov got another 1.5 years added to his sentence.

This is the second time Sergey has been convicted under the Article 411 of the Belarusian Criminal Code — “malicious disobedience to prison authorities.” His total sentence now amounts to 24 years and 5 months behind bars.

Recently, Sergey was also moved to a punishment isolation cell, and he's been banned from drawing. The drawings he sends in letters are no longer allowed through.
