Today I learned about "hardware acceleration". I've been using a 2015 Dell Inspriration 7000 with #endeavourOS for several weeks now. It's been going well but #firefox and #brave have been laggy. CPU usage wasn't spiking and wasn't going over 20% most of the time. Ram usage was at 70% or less.

I turned off "hardware acceleration" and the browsers are much snappier. It looks like hardware acceleration uses the GPU for the acceleration and I'm guessing since I have older hardware it wasn't doing to well. So I installed #bpytop and saw the GPU would spike like crazy when I had hardware acceleration on.

But it's so nice to just type one command and get a live healthcare card for your #boxen.

#bpytop is a neat ASCII only #admin tool for #linux or any flavour of #unix that I have come to rely on.

Edit: All you OSX fans... Use bpytop -lc for sanity reasons. You are welcome.

Why waste tty1 on getty, when you can have bpytop there instead!

Sure, you don't get the prettiest version because Linux's console is a vt100, but it's still fun when KVMing to a server.

Messing with #BpyTOP. I find it soothing. On the other hand I'm missing something obvious about #Ventoy. I thought making a bootable USB was the whole point...? And on the other other hand the #3GracesComplex is back in play.

All righty! One Bash shell is automatically #BpyTOP, and the next BBC~ according to its cursor (inasmuch as I only use the #Tor browser to check the news). The latter is still labeled "Terminal" on top though. ॰॰॰Fired up Theseus, aa-aaand we're back to the ever ephemeral Green #VoidLinux. I had attempted to install #BlendOS on the black 1T SSD last night from Purple (Kingston USB keys), but the system froze whilst I was in the kitchen, don't ask me why.
