@mook the problem is that many #Linux #distros procrastinate change.

• Noone would've started #SystemD if #SysVinit wasn't a dead end.
• For all the old #Xorg applications there's #Wayback to provide a user-privileged #Xwayland option.
• Modern #GPU|s by #Intel and #AMD only support #Wayland as #X11 is #EoL'd. This is the reason I can't deploy @linuxmint / #LinuxMint but have to setup @ubuntu / #UbuntuLTS or @opensuse / #OpenSUSE instead.
• It'll likely be easier to backport Wayland than whatever clusterfuck #Xlibre does try...

Also the problem is with either unmaintained legacy applications doing edgecases or shitty hardware vendors (espechally #nvidia) refusing to support Wayland & mixed-DPI setups!

• In reality, shit just works as in even #Gaming does unless the #Developers are assholes and specifically engineer their #Game to not work on Linux…

If you're using #Firefox (yes, I still do - despite their recent AI shenanigans, they are still a much better option for privacy than Chrome IMHO), you can use its local translation model to translate any highlighted text - just add a hotkey for the following command:

Just discovered with my partner that conky (conky.cc) + nvidia GPU doesn't work very nicely on Wayland. Been searching the web for an answer but yeah, tough luck.

Other than that, her conky config files work quite nicely on Xorg.
