Such motions are difficult to win, so this is amazing.

Okay, time to stop dicking around and actually set up the mediawiki for tracking my writing notes better.

I'm also gonna use it to make a public facing archive of my writing, releasing it all under the CC-BY-SA 4.0 license, so the wiki serves as both an archive of my writing, an extension of my writing, and opens my writing to the entire world to collaborate with me on.

@danstowell That's why I preferably license my software under #copyleft licenses. They're a bit more of a licensing hassle to reuse, but at least it avoids this leeching trap.

I believe developers should have a choice.

Sometimes you want to give your code to the world with no strings attached (ISC/BSD). That's beautiful. ❤️
Other times, you want to ensure your work isn't walled off inside a black-box AI or a proprietary cloud service. For that, introducing Total Reciprocity Public License (TRPL).
It closes the API and SaaS loopholes to keep the commons growing.

Sì, la GPL è un'applicazione rigorosa della lettera della normativa tesa esplicitamente a sovvertire tale normativa. Non a caso, la normativa si chiama #copyright mentre la #GPL è definita #copyleft.

Non potendo sperare di abolire una normativa liberticida e oscurantista, #RMS ha cercato di usarla per sovvertirla, usandola per mantenere liberi e condivisibili determinati software, impedendone l'appropriazione da parte di società che vogliono solo sfruttare gratuitamente il lavoro altamente specializzato degli sviluppatori che li hanno scritti.
