So, I was going to call #homenet to complain about my shitty connexion ever since their maintenance a couple of days ago.
Checking speedtest on my wife's PC though, showed she was getting proper speeds...
Then I noticed an orange blinking light on the router's LAN port my laptop is using... Unplugged it and plugged it back in, and yes, speeds are back to normal... I guess the cable might've been pulled out slightly (I ought to crimp a new plug on one of these days...), and been working on half-duplex mode instead?
Wish I'd checked that sooner... at least I hadn't called them yet....

Yes, getting and #internetConnection from ones #phone, aka #tethering, is such an fundamental part of so-called #smartphone ownership.
Its negligence that legacy #UI's never made it obvious to the user what it is and how it can be used. Instead people used a hodge-podge of app grift (#adware etc) to toggle a couple native settings.
Very poor.
Good to know the situation is getting easier with systems you've mentioned.
Tomorrow we'll not only be losing #waterAccess for an undetermined amount of hours due to repair maintenance on the pipes, #InternetServiceProvider #Telenor will also be doing yet another maintenance session on their internet and television cables, which means I can't #rant about being without water, via our fixed #internetConnection.
Gotta remember not to watch videos while on mobile data...
