PSA: for the general public mapping / GIS enthusiast / contributor, Grab publishes #KartaView smartphone image-capture app (Android: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.telenav.streetview, iOS: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/kartaview/id1089548849). When editing crowdsourced #OpenStreetMap #OSM map, editor can enable KartaView (as well as similar Mapilio, Mapillary, Panoramax) layer to see user-submitted image sequences, use to add map objects, detail.
Can't compete for #KartaView dashcam when you can't upload images!
iOS app uploads hosed, as are last two Android builds I've installed. Shameful waste of #OpenStreetMap #OSM community time, goodwill.😡 App bugs and/or server issues?

Unable to upload #KartaView iOS tracks for a few WEEKS now.😡.Shameful to release crippled iOS app, slap in the face to #OpenStreetMap users to not have bugfix release in days, if not hours. Obvs, needs more testing on more platforms! Bug-reporting UI also sucks, seems ineffective.😡 Grab Holdings needs grown-up software engineering professionals in charge! #GrabHoldings

@ShutterbugDoug I do remember deleting images using #KartaView but I think you can only do it from the website after you've uploaded them
So frustrating - frankly stupid! - that #kartaview doesn't let you delete junk images (stupid windshield suction cup fell). Delete entire sequence or show images of car interior and my lap? ☹️😡👎 Mapillary sucks in umpteen ways but allows image deletion. oh, the life of an #OpenStreetMap contributor 😉☹️

My question is when you think it will be available the transports maps to use like on #googlemaps ? Since is the only why a lot of people, most of them, are not using #OrganicMaps 🙂
Re: ***days-long*** #Mapillary processing delays for images to *finally* become available to #OpenStreetMap editors
Idea: high-priority processing for low-volume individual user contributions, low-priority batch mode processing for resource-intensive high-volume contributions.
If Mapillary is going to (continue to) be an OSM contributor productivity obstacle - wasted time, energy, bad PR - OSM should give #KartaView, #Mapilio images equal weight, e.g. add images fields in OSM database.
Hey, #OpenStreetMap people, does anyone know why, in iD editor image preview, #Mapillary now shows useless generic website URL instead of image-specific URL - with necessary Mapillary image ID for OSM objects? Very, VERY screwed-up! 😡 Can't easily submit image ID for objects!😡 I think it's now been months, if not seasons.😡
If Meta being jerks, can we add #KartaView, #Mapilio image ID fields?

Is your source code available and if not, are there plans to open source it? I would like to street-level images because they are invaluable for #OpenStreetMap mapping, however I cannot trust closed-source, #proprietary software with photo and GPS data of my location at all times when travelling.

@sotmeu "The future of street view photography?" excellent topic. I for one would like better cooperation among @mapilio, #Mapillary, #KartaView, and @panoramax.
That reminds of somebody's script to copy their #Mapillary contributions to #KartaView.
That's been quite a while, when Meta bought Mapillary.
Have you heard of #Panoramax? They bill themselves as the **free** "street view"
It's a test instance of #GeoVisio run by IGN with the French #OpenStreetMap community where you can share your street-level imagery collection.
They're conceptually in the same space as #Mapillary, #KartaView , or #GoogleStreetView.
Images taken outside of France are welcome, although the low-level zoom maps aren't available just yet.

@tugba it would be nice if #KartaView, #Mapillary, and #Mapilio @mapilio could work on interoperability of uploaded images or at least make a tool so that it's easier to contribute the same photos to all services.
