#Kile on Manjaro seems to be broken. Even though I can run latex on my system and it gives me a prompt, it doesn't pass Kile's system check.

Wer arbeitet hier auch regelmäßig mit #LaTeX ?

Does anybody work regularly with LaTeX?

In my opinion it should be used more in #school or #university. It is so much powerful for writing reports or something like that.

Normally I don't like IDE-like environments and would prefer to do everything in Vim (never usually bother with plugins/LSPs even in there), but #KDE #Kile is really nice. The live preview is especially useful when trying to fiddle with getting document formatting set up, but even when I'm just writing and don't necessarily need a preview, I still like to stick with Kile

#Kile the #KDE TEX/Latex (verrsion 3.0-b3) editor now available in #HaikuOS (got the local version 3.0-b4 up and running on KF6 also).

@recke Hier sind ja schon viele gute #TeXLaTeX #Editor Optionen genannt worden, aber ich werfe auch nochmal meine zwei Cent dazu.

Für kollaboratives synchrones Bearbeiten ist #Overleaf weiterhin ungeschlagen. Da lassen sich auch die Quelldateien easy als ZIP runterladen, um sonstigen Schabernack damit zu treiben und nicht auf online angewiesen zu sein.

Ansonsten nutze ich lokal auf meinem Laptop #Kile von #KDE. Super konfigurierbar, Live Vorschau und eingebaute Projektverwaltung. Klasse imho!

My recommendation is to start with #LyX

Once you get an understanding for #LaTeX and depending on the OS it is good to have a decent LaTeX editor like #Kile or #TeXStudio (here is a list: https://www.guru99.com/best-latex-editors-window-mac.html)

Apart from that, have a look at #markdown. This might give you faster results at the beginning.

Ich finde ja #TeX immer noch genauso #PITA wie vor 30 Jahren im Studium.

#Asciidoc, #Markdown, #Docbook sind aber kein Deut besser, wenn es ans Eingemachte geht.

Immerhin sind die Tools heute besser seit damals. #TeXstudio mein aktueller Favorit - für ein 1700 Seiten Werk aus 100ten Dateien.

Live Preview gibt's aber immer noch nicht und compilieren dauert 1minute30...

(Nein, #Kile ist keine Alternative. Und kein FanBoySplaining! Oder du musst eine Woche in meinen Mokassins laufen)

La plupart de mes documents sont rédigés avec #LaTeX dans #Kile (ou même dans un simple #Kwrite, parfois, j'avoue...).
C'est vrai aussi que je me passe assez facilement d'un correcteur, mais ce serait vraiment difficile d'intégrer #Grammalecte à un niveau supérieur ? Voire carrément à l'ensemble d'un environnement comme #KDE #Plasma ?

It's really awesome how KDE composes complex programs out of smaller base programs. For instance, Kile is a Latex-Editor, which has a pdf viewer (Okular), powerful editor (Kate) and terminal (Konsole) all integrated into one window.

#Lyx seems very powerful in its documentation but doesn't work at all on #ArchLinux. I haven't filed any bug reports yet.

Found #KDE #Kile, fits quite well for my use case. I don't mind typing in #Tex, live preview and symbol insertion are great.
