Mit Linux 6.19 hat Linus #Torvalds nach acht Release-Kandidaten gestern den letzten Kernel der Reihe 6.x veröffentlicht, die am 2. Oktober 2022 mit Linux 6.0 eingeläutet wurde. Der nächste Kernel trägt somit die Versionsnummer 7.0. Das hat Torvalds in den Release Notes für Linux 6.19 bestätigt.

- VRR (Variable Rate Refresh) fixes
- Backlight ctrl of my OLED works again
- Suspend improvements

Linux 6.15 kommt damit ziemlich genau zwei Monate nach Linux 6.14. In der Release-Ankündigungs-E-Mail auf der #Linux-Kernel-Mailingliste erklärte #Torvalds dazu, dass ein in letzter Minute aufgefallener Fehler dazu führte, dass ein neues Feature wieder deaktiviert werden musste.
