#Megapixels

Day 5

Uneventful. And isn't that what we want? I haven't rebooted since I have arrived. I might reboot tomorrow as #snapshot seems to be ... having some blinking screen issues. #megapixels seems to be working now though lol... I want to build megapixels 2.0... but... might need to upgrade and everyone is telling me not to...

Megapixels 2.0, properly compiled, and Highscore work correctly by specifying the environment variable related to the MESA GL version as follows:
MESA_GLES_VERSION_OVERRIDE=3.2

Following my request one and a half months ago: mstdn.social/@theDarky/1144151

By adding the following line to my #Mobian configuration:

/etc/apt/sources.list.d/experimental.list
deb deb.debian.org/debian experimental main

And by installing the experimental versions of the mesa Vulkan package:
sudo apt -t experimental install mesa-vulkan-drivers

They said #XMPP was connected to #xampu, so I made some! 😇

Hair is personal. Messaging should be too :xmpp:

The owner of Beeja Botanicals is my former classmate, and she's used the shampoo herself, so I know it's good! The first batch is ready and will be available for purchase at #PravConf (or will be, once I've finished wrapping it all 😅)

PS: flyer designed with #Inkscape, and photo taken with #Megapixels on #Mobian on the #PocoF1! :inkscape: :debian:

A round shampoo bar wrapped with the XMPP logo, sitting on top of a flyer that will be displayed in detail in the next picture.Flyer. Full text follows, along with a description of accompanying images:

[The XMPP logo] Introducing xampu, the XMPP themed shampoo bar!

What if your shampoo brand forced you to hang out only with people who use the same brand of shampoo? [Two people with focus lines on their hair. A lightning bolt strikes between them]

We think such restrictions are as absurd for messaging apps as they would be for hair products. [Similarly, two speech bubbles with a lightning bolt betwixt]

XMPP is a common language (protocol) that different chat services can use to talk to each other. [Image of many connected speech bubbles]

[Green banner saying] XMPP stands for "eXtensible Messaging and Presence Protocol". Since both those are a mouthful, people in Brazil have taken to affectionately pronouncing it xampu—which means shampoo.

[A rabbit] This shampoo bar by Beeja Botanicals is hand made using natural ingredients. It is free from harmful products like SLS and paraben, and contains no animal-tested products.

Like making your own shampoo, running your own chat server allows you to address local ethical and technical issues—more privacy? solar powered? larger upload size? integrated login?—that matter to you.

Not everyone has the time and energy to make shampoo, or to run their own XMPP server. Proceeds from this shampoo bar will go towards funding Prav, which operates XMPP services so you don't have to. [A pigeon]

Footer saying: Hair is personal. Messaging should be, too.

Over- and under-exposed well-stocked #roadside store in #Malleswaram, #Bengaluru. If anyone tells you "everything is online nowadays", show them this!

Photos taken with #Megapixels on the #PocoF1, with no post-processing apart from whatever happens by default. The white balance was manually adjusted but first too high and then too low—there wasn't enough time to get it to "just right"
A room with wall-high shelves on all sides. Some sacks are stacked in front, and the shopkeeper is counting something among them. The whole image is green and overexposed. The same room, but dark and underexposed. The shopkeeper has gone to one of the shelves at the back of the shop and is looking down at something on one of the lower shelves. The picture is a bit out of focus so you can't really see what's on the shelves: it looks like books but it's actually boxes and cans of various supplies.

First photos taken with the Samsung Galaxy S III on #postmarketOS, probably! Credits to Jack Kekzoz, @martijnbraam, and whoever else helped him with getting #Megapixels working on the Midas (Samsung Galaxy S III and Note II) devices — I'm just posting about this, I didn't work on it myself. Hopefully we'll have it available in Edge over the coming months.

@PierreBucheli Not sure about , but on the side there's quite a bit of work on the ISP (rkisp1) implementation (see patchwork.libcamera.org/projec). So the 0.4 release will have some nice stuff, possibly even tuning data for the PPP specifically.

Not sure if has the + combi set up by default ( and do) - if it has, you can just run camera / snapshot or a bunch of other apps (kamoso on ) to give it a try.

Camera section started with what I have (not much for now ;))

wiki.postmarketos.org/wiki/Sxm

I might want to dig into this when I'm ok with calls ... don't know yet if i'll go #megapixels or gnome-snapshot ...

Here's postprocessd from #megapixels applying lens distortion and vignetting correction (the wrong values to make it more visible when testing)

This should help a lot with image quality

Lilbits: Volla Tablet, Google Pixel 9 Pro, and MediaTek Dimensity 7350

The Volla Tablet is tablet that’s set to ship this fall with support for Android or Ubuntu Touch operating systems, optional pen and keyboard support, and a focus on privacy.
When Volla launched a crowdfunding campaign for the tablet earlier this year, the plan was to build a device with a 12.3 inch display, 12GB of RAM, and 256GB of […]

Megapixels was one of the first (somewhat) full-featured camera apps for mobile Linux phones like the PinePhone. Developer Martijn Braam has been working on v2.0 for over a year, and shares some goals & updates in this video. buff.ly/3zKubWG #MobileLinux #LinuxSmartphones #Megapixels #Smartphones #PinePhone #CameraApps

On the it's still quite laggy - especially compared to . But oh well 🤷

All devices use 1080p resolutions btw. - if you count odd ones like 1280x1080 (or 1080x1280...) as such.

2024-05-21

#postmarketOS just landed the last MR needed to make the #libcamera + #PipeWire camera stack work on the #Librem5 and #PinePhone by default, using the new software ISP shipped in libcamera 0.3.
So if you have such a device: just update and go install apps like Snapshot, Warp, Decoder etc. You can even use it with Firefox and - very soon - Chromium.

Note that this does *not* replace #megapixels or #millipixels - those continue to be the default camera apps.
