Whelp, I gave it a shot. #openshot on windows has severe stutter when playing 4k video in the editor preview. Unusable. :(
v3.3.0, I've applied various recommended performance tweaks, still no bueno. Back to davinci resolve, for now.

I personally recommend Kdenlive (maybe a bit advanced). OpenShot is easier to use, but needs a bit more effort (and clicks)

took me a day, but i figured why my #openshot crashes all the time with some of my videos: https://github.com/OpenShot/openshot-qt/issues/5261
it's the non standard orientation. the bug of course is closed meanwhile due to inactivity (unfixed, unfortunately), BUT I figured that if I open these non standard videos in Avidemux and simply save in any other format, Openshot will happily import them.
again, this step took me a day of trial/error.
Cornered by #Apple 's diabolical self-serving obsolescence policies I had to find an alternative to #iMovie to do some video editing on my 6 year old #Macbook

It did the job, quietly, intuitively, without of registration, accounts, passwords, or having to have a 'relationship' with the supplier. 👏 👏
Sonntag - eigentlich wollte ich mich heute mehr mit meiner Musik, also mit meinen Schallplatten beschäftigen. Statt dessen probiere ich die Videofunktion meiner Kamera aus und steige mal wieder in die Videobearbeitung mit #openshot ein. Heraus kommen zwei, drei kleine Clips, noch ohne rechten Plan und Linie, aber mir gefällt es. Was ich wohl auch noch lernen muss: Der Blick für das Bild ist ein anderer als der Blick für ein Video. Natürlich, aber darüber nachgedacht habe ich noch nie.
Der Rest des Sonntags ist Erholung. Wenig Bewegung, wenig Aufregung - das Sofa ist irrsinnig gemütlich heute.
#amEndedesTages wird noch kurz für morgen geplant. Dann gewinnt die Gemütlichkeit des Sofas wieder die Oberhand.
Morgen also ein Museumsbesuch, ganz im Zeichen des #Vinyl.
Ich bin schon sehr gespannt! Und die Kamera geladen und bereit...

By using #foss video editors I gave up color grading that was capable of believable film emulation (via Resolve and its third party plugins).
But it's even more disturbing that none of these foss apps support 10bit h.264/5. Let alone Raw. This kind of makes them useless to me, as most of my cameras record as such. In fact, most new non-phone cameras record as such by default.

@poliglotonet @rod2ik Yo uso #shotcut para algunas cosas, #openshot para otras. Si usas Fedora con KDE, #KDENlive me han comentado que va muy bien, aunque no lo he probado, por los comentarios que he leído, es uno de los mejores.
