Journal – Week 4, January 2026

Another week with the lovely Bas in my home. I had my physio twice this week, and I hope that Bas didn't howl all the time that I was out... He was quiet when I got back, but I don't know for how long... On Wednesday, mum and I went to Germany for groceries. On Wednesday eve, I went to my parents again. Helped dad with some things, and one thing didn't go through... But that got rescheduled to Friday eve. And then, we (I say we, but it was all him 🏅) were finally be able to fix the stuff we'd been working on for a while now... The weekend was fairly quiet, but I felt a bit bläh, so I took it as easy as I could with reading, wtching TV, and getting a few chores done. Some sunnier days, not too warm, around freezing during the nights. If we really get this weather for this week, I guess it will be a decent week for sure, weather wise, at least. Quick links to the days of the week: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday & Sunday. […]

Journal – Week 3, January 2026

Well, what a week! I knew it would be a busy week, but I didn't know that it would be this weird in so many ways. Finally being able to visit the gym and PT. Helping mum prepare the groceries before her surgery. Taking Bas home. Dad trying to get some attention, in his way... 😇 Trying to help dad, trying to help mum, stressing because comunication isn't always their strongest suit, and last-minute things are stressful in so many ways... I did my best to cope, and this is how this weird week went... Well, at least the snow and ice had sodded off! There was some rain, but that's not as bad as all the slippery stuff on the roads... Well, the temperatures are finally going back up again, which will mean that the snow and ice will finally go away... Not without making a mess of things first, of course... But, instead of snow and ice, we're getting a lot of rain, according to this forecast. Still, I guess it's better than the snow and ice, at least I can drive Skoosh again, and safely walk with Bas when he's here. 🐾 Quick links to the days of the week: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday & Sunday. Journal – Week 2, January 2026

Well, that second week, the first full one of 2026, became a snowy mess! We started to be bothered by snow the previous weekend, and this week, it only got worse. I could not go out with Skoosh, as I didn't want to risk damaging her in the crazy weather conditions. So, I have been doing all my exercises at home, the ones I could do there, that is. I have visited the supermarket a few times on foot, all very challenging. And I listened to a lot of "water" with the MyNoise® app, to try and calm my mind. My brain was not dealing too well with the break of routine. I had some decent nights, but also some very bad ones. I can't wait for the snow to sod off... 😉I know next week will be different as well, as I will be taking Bas home on Wednesday then, due to mum's surgery on Thursday. So... This week was cold and shitty, but I still did my best to make it through OK enough... Snow, cold, snow... Ugh... Can't the effing snow just sod off and give me back my normal routine again! Puh-leeze! Quick links to the days of the week: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday & Sunday. […]

Journal – Week 53/1, December 2025/January 2026

The last week of 2025, the first one of 2026... Endings and beginnings. Memories, good and bad. Grief over the ones we lost. Hope for the things to come. Some excitement maybe, if all goes well... 2025 wasn't the best year for me at all. I endured too much, and I wasn't able to handle it fully. I am still here, but I am not doing all that well. I have reached out for help, which should start early next month (February). I had to start the new year on my own... Well, I was with my parents, but I drove home all alone, for the first time in many years, and it hurt me so much... If all goes well, we should hopefully have some good news around the 25th... 🤞🏻Until then, there is hope... And some preparations getting started, just in case... 🍀🐾💜 Some winter weather is here, colder days, colder nights, and maybe some rain or even snow... Well..... This image, made on Monday morning, didn't reflect the bad weather we'd be having, not at all! On Friday things were slippery, as some snow started to fall. On Saturday, it started snowing a lot more than they first thought. More snow on Sunday, and more snow expected the next week, which isn't mentioned in this image yet... It was a cold and slippery start of the new year. ❄️ Quick links to the days of the week: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday & Sunday. […]

Journal – Week 52, December 2025

The last full week of 2025. This crappy year is finally getting to its end, hopefully making place for a better year to come... A busy week, with physio on Tuesday, grocery shopping in Germany on Wednesday, Xmas on Thursday and Friday, and then the weekend to recover a bit from it all... I went to Germany alone, as it would be faster, and earlier, so also less busy. And, I even saw a sweet doe crossing the street as I headed to the stores. Xmas was OK, and I did my best to adjust to my parent's routines. Although, they also adjusted their dinner time to come a bit nearer to me, so I could go to bed "in time" (still late for me, but it was early for them). The weekend, I managed some chores, and I finally finished my book... And then, I got ready to start the new week, with the last few days of this sad and painful year... It's gonna be a cold and lonely Christmas without you... Well, I missed Arwen like crazy, and it was the coldest 1st Xmas day since 2000. But, even with the windchill effect getting the realfeel to -9°C, it was also the sunniest Xmas. Fortunately, there was no rain, so it was just a very cold week, most of the time. Quick links to the days of the week: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday & Sunday. […]

Journal – Week 51, December 2025

It's been quite a week. Some good news, some other positive things happened, and then something negative hit me, and that triggered my CTPSD some... I try to keep going, I hope to turn some things around, and to finally be able to resolve some things... The sooner, the better, but unfortunately, I am dependant on someone else, who's not been the fastest or most reliable. But still, I do hope (with caution) that this negative thing hanging over me will be resolved in 2026... On Friday, my lovely glass Arwen pendant broke, which also broke me... 😢 I worked on some bits that I had been meaning to do. I even was able to clean some bits and bops that I had been neglecting for a while. I read and puzzled a lot less, but I did those other things instead. On Sunday, I had a lovely walk with a sweet friend, who treated me to some wonderful Chinese food... It was a nice way to end this mixed week... All sorts of weather is predicted for this week... Let's hope we'll have some nice days (and nights). Quick links to the days of the week: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday & Sunday. […]

Getting to the end…

...of a very crappy year... It should have been a normal year. I knew I was heading for a surgery, which was really needed. But that was the only thing that was on "the schedule" that was going to be a crappy time for a bit. But first, my parents got into a bad accident on my birthday. Then, when I was slowly recovering from my first surgery, the hip popped out, and it went to hell from there. Within a few days, I experienced the worst physical pain of my life, gotten emergency surgery, and then I experienced the worst emotional pain of my life, as Arwen got very bad very quickly, and we had to say our final goodbye. I have been struggling ever since. The hip isn't healing as I hoped it would, it's taking its time and there is still a slight bruise and left-over edema that is bothering me. I am struggling with the traumatic events, and I have my first psych appointment booked for early February. Things went bad as well with the house situation of my male ex. This caused extra stress and triggered the CPTSD again... I do hope that 2026 will be a way better year... Hopefully the situation with the house can finally end. And, if all goes well, I can welcome a new little one into my home and heart... 🐾💜 […]

She has pastel rainbow angel wings and a gentle golden halo above her head, wearing a festive red-and-green bow tie with a tiny bell. Sparkling lights surround her, evergreen branches and wrapped gifts frame the scene, and Santa’s sleigh flies through the night sky behind her. At the bottom, purple text reads: “Getting to the end…”, reflecting the closing of 2025—a difficult year marked by love, loss, and saying goodbye to Arwen, who is deeply missed and forever cherished.Cute white bear hugging a pink heart with a small red heart floating nearby.

Journal – Week 50, December 2025

The second week of December. The weather could not make up its mind at times. I had a few appointments, and I struggled a bit with my lack of decent sleep. Motivation was low at times, and I tried to keep going onwards. Working a bit on my puzzle, reading some more, writing new blog posts, and watching a nice movie... There were also a day and night with little Bas, who made a whole lot of noise, unfortunately. And my dad celebrated his 75th birthday at the end of the week. A warm start of the week, but many gray days, and some rain... Followed by colder days and nights... Journal – Week 49, December 2025

The first week of December, the last month of the year... It's been a long week, as I struggled with sleep, pain, and not finding my motivation. But, I tried to get some relaxing in. I tried to get some exercises in. I read, I puzzled, I even attemted to game a bit... Keep scrolling to see more of how this week went for me... Another week of mixed weather ahead. Colder days and nights, but not freezing (I hope), some rain, maybe a bit of sun as well... The end of autum and the start of winter are represented in this forecast. Although, I have to admit, no freezing nights (or days, for that matter) is very welcome to me. Quick links to the days of the week: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday & Sunday. One more tear

I cried a lot after my hex ditched me and threw me off (kicked me off, to be honest) a cliff with a knife lunged in my back... I had been led to believe I could never make it on my own. I was told this by my then shrink, that assessed me with my GAF score, after the diagnosis of AuDHD. My GAF score was determined at 54, which means, according to the scale it uses: "Moderate symptoms (e.g., flat affect and circumlocutory speech, occasional panic attacks) or moderate difficulty in social, occupational, or school functioning (e.g., few friends, conflicts with peers or co-workers)." The shrink explained to my then partner and me that it meant that I would need support, if I wanted to be "successful", and make it "in a good way". I think this was what really set off the gaslighting, as my hex then realized that she could use this to her advantage. […]
