I recently switched #RSSReaders from #TheOldReader to #Inoreader because I wanted more features. Their website isn't the greatest place to read feeds as far as #accessibility goes(I switched to their beta and am giving them some recommendations though, so hopefully that will change), so I'm looking for a good #Windows #app that will sync with Inoreader. I use #FieryFeeds on #iOS but I'm on my computer a lot, so I'd love a Windows app. Can anyone recommend one? I've tried several but they either didn't sync with it or accessibility was bad. Some of the ones I've tried are #FluentReader, #RavenReader, #QuiteRSS, #FeedDemon, #RSSGuard, #RSSOwlnix, and #MyReader. The last one is the only one that seemed to work with Inoreader but accessibility is pretty poor. If any others I mentioned work for you, how did you set it up? If you're using something else, what is it?

#Feeder on Android. No real bells and whistles. Has some tagging and categorization. All I need.
Was using #quiterss (quite nice, simple) on Linux but rarely anymore just due to my routine.
Conclusion: If you want to use a #desktop #RSS reader, you should use #QuiteRSS because it's simply the best, better than all the rest.
But keep backup your feeds before any updates, and keep #Akregator as a backup, because it works acceptably well.
Fortunately, both can import and export feeds to the same format.

Pro: Like Mary Poppins, QuiteRSS is practically perfect in every way. New items are obvious. Easy to mark multiple items simultaneously. Well able to display just the content of a page, rather than the entire page. Incompatible with many paywalls.
Con: It depends on the qt5-webkit library. As a result, if you're on a rolling release distro, QuiteRSS will occasionally break for several days after an update until its dependency is fixed upstream.

Do you subscribe to your favorite #Youtube channels just to never hear from them again? With #YouTubeDataToRSS (in Linux) you can convert the CSV file from your Google Takeout and convert it to an OPML file which can be imported in your RSS reader (like #QuiteRSS ) https://github.com/rredford/YouTubeDataToRSS You'll still be in Youtube's ecosystem but will stop depending on their algorithm.
@nikodemus #QuiteRSS on #Linux - #Feeder on Android. Quite like them both.
Turns out #QuiteRSS doesn't display mastodon post images in the feed :((( Someone already created an issue for it on Github but it wasn't addressed/commented on for over a year...
So I just realized... #QuiteRSS doesn't show a full date of when a post was made. Which means no one will ever know that my website's posts come from early middle ages for organization purposes 😂
I successfully migrated my RSS feeds to #Newsboat . At first I was unsure that I could configure it to my liking, but I was very pleasantly surprised, it covers all the bases I could think of.
I said goodbye to #QuiteRSS . The only problem I could mention is that it was a bit sluggish with my 250+ feeds, but I really can't fault it for that. It's also been 3 years since the last update, but I hope it's continued, because it was the best one for me among the GUI ones I tried.
@thelinuxEXP #QuiteRSS is my #RSS feed reader of choice. I'd be lost without RSS feeds. They make the internet bearable.
Finally tried to *really* set up a desktop #RSS reader. Looked at this good summary by @itsfoss :
https://itsfoss.com/feed-reader-apps-linux/
The starting point was the intersection of those with availability in the #Ubuntu repos.
-- I'm on Gnome, so #Akregator would have been heavy on the KDE-dependencies.
-- #GnomeFeeds is nice, but it really is a simpler structure, and I was looking for more organization.
-- So it's #QuiteRSS for now, I've set it up and like it so far.
-- (Newsboat is also nice for terminal.)
