Ah yes, that time in July 2021 when I came back from a Red List country on Freedom Day but had to pay my mandatory hotel bill to a random pharmacist in East London.

It was the most relaxing 10 days I'd had all year with regular meals and a nice view over the Blackwall Tunnel approach.

Rote Listen sind wichtige Fachpublikationen von Expertinnen und Experten, die zeigen, wie es um bestimmte Tier- und Pflanzenarten steht – d. h. wie häufig oder gefährdet sie sind. In Hessen übernimmt das Hessische Landesamt für Naturschutz, Umwelt und Geologie (HLNUG) die Planung, Redaktion und Herausgabe.

2025 wurden zwei Rote Listen für Hessen aktualisiert: Die Rote Liste der
Libellen und die der Fang- und Heuschrecken. Die beiden Werke wurden
vom Arbeitskreis Libellen in Hessen sowie vom Netzwerk Heuschrecken,
zwei Arbeitskreise der Hessischen Gesellschaft für Ornithologie und Naturschutz e.V. (HGON), ehrenamtlich erstellt.

Auf der Tagung werfen wir einen Blick auf die aktuellen Gefährdungen der
beiden Artengruppen, Veränderungen zu früheren Roten Listen, Besonderheiten und Schutzmöglichkeiten.

New Welsh documentry following botanist Dr Kevin McGinn trying ensure the existence of 25 of the most threatened plant species in Wales, narrated by Iolo Willams.

Today is the International Day for #BiologicalDiversity!

The #RedListIndex of #ThreatenedSpecies shows a continuous #decline from 0.82 in 1995 to 0.72 in 2024📉 (UN).

This negative #trend is not in line with the @UN #SDG aim to “halt the #loss of #biodiversity”⛔.
