Here’s a video showing some of the cool dynamic features you can get in using geometry nodes.
Basically, these two add-ons I use for reverse-engineering, both take advantage of the newer geometry nodes capabilities, one is 🤩 , and the other is 🤩, a really great add-on that can generate dynamic cross-sections of an STL or any other meshes model but also has tons of other tools for surface quality control.

Doing reverse engineering with and is insanely efficient and accurate.
Also, very few programs can even handle STL files from scans that are over 1.5 GB and that’s already the low-res version… the full raw scan is more than 50 GB.

シースカイ博愛

今回の宮古島への旅行はあいにく天気の谷間に当たってしまい、2泊3日の滞在中は気温が低く風の強い日となってしまいました。それでも白い砂浜のおかげで綺麗な青い海をいくらかは見ることができたのですが、青い空との組み合わせで見ることは叶わず、次回への期待をつなぐこととなりました。

しかし、シースカイ博愛という観光船でのツアーは十分に楽しむことができました。この船は喫水線の下に窓が付いていて、その窓を横から見る形で水面より低い位置に座席が配置されているので、楽な姿勢で海の中をクリアに見ることができるようになっています。この船に乗ってサンゴ礁のほうへ行って、たくさんの魚や海ヘビ、そしてウミガメの姿も見ることができました。

日差しがあればより明るく見ることができたのかもしれませんが、夏よりもこの時期の水のほうがプランクトンなどが少なく水が澄んでいるとのことで、かなり遠くのほうまではっきりと見ることができました。大きな魚が何匹も船に沿って泳いでいるのを間近で見ることができて、これならシュノーケリングなどよりもいいのではないかとさえ思いました。魚やウミガメと触れ合えるスキューバなどには到底かなわないとは思いますが、そこまで自由に活動できるようになるにはそれなりの習熟が必要でしょうから、こちらは船に乗るだけのお手軽さで大きく優っているのは間違いないでしょう。

1時間弱のクルーズで大人1人2000円という料金でしたが、海中展望台のようなところで1000円程度の料金を支払うのと比べると、圧倒的にこちらの方が価値があると思います。宮古島での手軽なアクティビティの候補として、ぜひ検討してみてほしいと思います。

This is a colour seascape photo in landscape format of a large cruise ship underway just before sunrise. Southampton Water, UK (2019). The lower third of the image is filled with calm sea water with numerous small ripples disturbing dark, cobalt blue surface. In the centre is a large cruise ship occupying most of the length of the photo. The ship, viewed in profile, is underway from right to left and steaming across the frame. The vessel's large hull is all white with multiple decks. Two rows of portholes are below the lifeboat deck with about ten decks above. Most of the cabins have balconies, all being dimly lit. The uppermost deck has rows of bright lights strung along the length with the ship's name brightly illuminated in large, bold, white letters 'MSC Bellissima' - just forward of the middle of the ship. Further aft is a large structure containing the many large black exhausts pipes from the multiple engines and generators. On this black faux funnel is the illuminated logo of the shipping line, a gold star with a large 'M' and smaller 'sc' below (for 'Mediterranean Shipping Company'). Much of the ship is bathed in an orange glow from the internal and external lights. In the background is a layer of thin grey cloud that rises upwards to the halfway up point. Above is a near clear sky with an orange to golden glow of first light with the sun both below the horizon and behind the ship. There are just on or two small cirrus clouds in the otherwise clear sky.
