Failing to launch #Anno117 : Pax Romana through #Uplay and #Bottles on #Linux ?

I was missing these dlls in the system32 and game Win64 folders: icudt68.dll icuin68.dll icuuc68.dll all can be found here https://github.com/unicode-org/icu/releases/tag/release-68-2 in the icu4c-68_2-Win64-MSVC2019.zip

No, I'm not doing an #ubisoft #boycott. Ubi Soft is boycotting themselves by shoving UbiSux Connect and making things even worse than #Uplay

- No #Steamworks features like achievements, cloud saves, etc
- No support for #SteamDeck, despite the game being marked as perfect compatibility

The reason I don't buy Ubisoft games is not that I boycott them. it's because they are digital paperweights thanks to them using steam as a shortcut to Connect. "When in Rome, do as the Romans do".

Ubisoft has offered clarification on inactive accounts. Those with purchases on them will not be deleted.

Finally stumbled upon the solution for a #Uplay issue that's been bugging me for years and actually kept me from playing #Anno. One wonders why #Ubisoft doesn't have add a simple check to their client that purges invalid state if it notices frequent 2FA.

Anyone else having problems signing into #uplay from #Steam #SteamDeck? I'm using #Proton Experimental. It just claims "Connection lost".

Just tried to update my #2FA settings on #Ubisoft #Uplay site. When I logged in, it tried to coerce me to provide my #PhoneNumber "for better security". I closed that window and went to settings.

All of that said, at last #Steam *has* some family sharing support. My preferred games portal, #GOG (or Good Old Games as it used to be) doesn't, so if and when I grant access to my kid for that, that's a wide open set of permissions... As for #UPlay and #Origin, half the time I can't get those working with all the mandatory 2FA mobile authentication requirements. Seriously dudes, leave the need for 2FA for just purchases and email/password changes.
