Welland Canal Lock 3 on the Great Lakes St Lawrence Seaway System

Not the planned spectating all day at the U23 World Champs because of weather conditions. A pivot to a little bit of shopping, lunch and then some time spent watching the Captain Henry Jackman go through the locks and down the Canal towards lake Ontario.

There are many layers to this photo. In the background is a factory water tower which is white and rusted. A treeline is in front of it then a building with an old, red brick look with factory windows and a ladder to the rooftop. A loon floats on the water which has slight ripples. The loon appears to be looking at the camera with its red eye. The black head and beak are a stark contrast to the patterned back which has a regular pattern of white and there is a white ring around its neck.

The building is beige and shows peeling paint and rust spots. Centred in the photo is a window with 11 panes across and 4 panes down, resembling a crossword puzzle with some light and some dark panes. There is no way to see through the panes due to dirt or something covering the windows. Rust is evident around all of the panes.
