Okay, but we can also #federate this now with the #fediverse. Like, #ActivityPub can handle search queries just fine.
So, just running on microcomputers, everyone can put on their own index whatever they want.
A person can _easily_ index 50,000 pages on a rapsberry pi.
A #FediSearch can broadcast any query to known peers. Each peer returns top-k results. The originating node can then aggregate and rank.
So @alice queries their FediSearch, it searches its own index and queries subscribed peers, those peers do the same thing. Nodes can choose who they trust, cache, etc.
The number of indexes pages will be something along the lines of `pages_per_nod * log(number_nodes)`. So a thousand nodes may only cover a million pages, but if the trust network is good, those are probably the most important million pages.
Also, I would venture that you'd have some nodes specializing in having a lot of pages: tens of millions, others just for stuff they like, others specifically for non-commercial interests. Selecting who you federate your search with really affects the ranking.

Bluesky Is Not Decentralized And That’s An Issue And Will Continue To Be One
This is concerning because there was a mass exodus from Twitter/X recently when that network started suspending accounts a the request of the Turkish government.
Bluesky is not decentralized. Not yet. And probably won’t ever get there in my opinion. This is concerning especially because of where the United States is heading.
Now, don’t get me wrong, I love my community on Bluesky. So many people from my days on Twitter/X are on Bluesky. But, I’m not ignoring Mastodon or the Fediverse as a whole for Bluesky for the above reason. You’re still at the mercy of a VC-backed corporate entity.
Jay Graber, the CEO of Bluesky, can sway what she wants about Bluesky federating, I just don’t see it happening and the lack of movement toward the actual Fediverse is concern.
Look, if what happened to this Turkish user is true, we should all be wary of our time on Bluesky. Don’t put all your eggs in one basket.

I used a lot of hashtags, and I will use them in all my posts because it seems like the Fediverse needs more content with hashtags! There is a need for a wider range of hashtags! Hashtags for all! Decentralization for all! Vote for me as the Prime Minister of the Fediverse! (Kidding, hehe) I'll keep creating content on the Fediverse. However, it's not free. The monthly internet service provider subscription is around RM50.00, minus add-ons. My coffee and food, of course, are necessary every day, and they will cost between RM20 and RM100 per day. I hope I can find ways to earn MYR.
