TIL that when there's a power failure on linux the kernel writes a status to /etc/powerstatus and sends a SIGPWR signal to the init process which can then act upon it. This status also has support for UPS, so if there's an UPS running, then init will know about it and its status.

I'm a mid-level #linux amateur.
I recently switched from a little bit of everything but mainly #debian to #ArchLinux. The great think is the possibility to be light and have the right setup.
with #pacman and #aur almost everything is there.
i do web, office, virtualization, and it want ok on day to day computer.
The small frustration is that if you want more, choose #init for example...is there a way inside linux to do #lfs?
But in fact building a day by day #os with #freebsd seems demanding.

Hallo, Ich brauch mal dringend Hilfe. Ich bin ratlos und weis nicht was ich machen soll. Ich muss irgendwie an meine Daten ran. um zumindest ein Bäckup zu ziehen. Muss irgendein Festplattencrash sein.

So I'm thinking of installing Devuan as an experiment. To see if I can live without systemd. I'm fairly certain most of my activity flow does not have a hard dependency on systemd, but systemd does make some things more convenient.

My preferred non-systemd init is OpenRC, but I like Dinit and Runit as well. Devuan offers a choice of OpenRC or Runit. I'll choose OpenRC.

@nachtfunke I always add a property like `#init` and put a conditional in `connectedCallback` so that it only fires when the element is first added to the DOM as opposed to moved. I'm probably doing it wrong though. I hate Javascript 😁
