Congratulations and thank you to everyone involved in #30YearsOfPHP I've been around since the early days, contributing only a bit to the #PHP core itself, but mainly as a developer for the #pear repository, at conferences (#LinuxTag, #PHPConference) or projects like #TYPO3.
It's great to see the language evolve, how clean and versatile components and libraries have become. It helped shape the internet, with a lot of (also excellent) languages along the way.

Fragrance of Japanese quince (Chaenomeles japonica) is what makes me long for fall and harvest season. It's divine.

A young pala pear tree in our meadow in the lower field. Bore fruit for the first time 2 years ago. Unfortunately the birds are usually quicker to pick the (still unripe) fruit. Has recovered well from the deer browsing that I treated with clay and cow dung.

Excursus:

The ancient Pala pear trees can still be found in the Upper Venosta Valley. The high, knotted trees are dotted around the landscape, often at the roadsides or on village greens. The sweet Pala pear has always been considered particularly healthy, and once used to be prescribed by doctors and pharmacies. In the Upper Venosta Valley, this almost extinct pear, was first was mentioned under the name Pilli Palli pear in the Coira Castle chronicle in 1755. It is still used in many different dishes, for example in the Christmas loaf with diced pear or the Pala pear bread (Palabirabrot). It is also very popular as a classy distillate.

Oh, and our #jostaberry bush is in bloom too! I only got it in autumn from my parents' garden so I didn't know what to expect. For those of you who don't know this berry, it's a cross between gooseberry and black currant. In German we call it #Jochelbeere (that's the name I would use) or #Jostabeere (*Jo*hannisbeere + *Sta*chelbeere - the German names of the "parent" fruits). It tastes just like you would expect and the bushes are thornless
