At #Nairn Falls, #Pemberton, British Columbia, Canada. It is a sacred place to the Líl'wat nation #lilwat. This community was growing by the side of the falls, in the spray, on basalt talus. To the best of my ability - #Cryptogramma acrostichoides (parsley fern), #Micranthes ferruginea (russet saxifrage), #Penstemon fruticosus (shrubby penstemon), #Arctostaphylos uva-ursi (kinnikinnick or bearberry), #mosses.

We're looking at the edge of a sharp drop-off (if you could see further you'd be looking at the water boiling through the chute at the base of the falls). The ground is carpeted in thick moss, several species. There are clumps of fresh green leaves (the ferns and kinnikinnick), purple flowers (the penstemon), and tiny white flowers (the saxifrage). It was cloudy that day so the light is a bit cool.

I have this penstemon I got from a British seed source. It was supposed to be P. deustus, but it isn't. I don't have a dissecting scope, so keying it out via Eflora is not working for me. I am hoping someone will look at this and say "oh! It's xxx".
Later: Well, it looks like a cultivar of P. hirsutus, which apparently can be white. The flowers aren't as open as the photos show, but are very similar otherwise.
