Well seems like as long as you want. I’ve continued to nurse and keep clean the tray and feed more when they seem hungry these have been in tray for months and ill cut them back today and give them their second leafing.

@ljs @ohjames AFAICT #Android for the most part doesn't do much of an #init system and merely uses #toybox to make it's #UI able to run and completely abstract the underlying system.
- And even if it were to run it, without #rooting AND extensive knowledge of #Linux most people won't even be able to do so.
Plus yeeting the init system - even if it's just a single /etc/init file will brick the system and necessitates reflashingbabnew ROM.
- In theory one could migrate fron one init system to another but explaining that will exceed my 11.000 character limit and makes even less sense.

Seems like you can leave clones in clone trays as long as you keep the water fresh. While i don’t recommend this, it can be handy when space is limited and you need to keep plants around while you test them. These clones have been in tray for at least a month and half past rooting and maybe longer with no immediate issues. Are there any "advanced" #android rooting/modding support channels? Places where I can ask things like:
* Is it possible for me to decrypt and mount the /data partition manually from the lineageos recovery?
* What exactly was it that google changed about play integrity that broke bypasses? It doesn't seem to affect microg, will it in the future?
* How are secrets stored in the keystore and can I disable the hardware keystore to make backups work?

- I grew up with early android devices that were janky af. #Jailbreaking looked to me like a worse alternative to #rooting because back in the early days of the 1st #iPad there was no way to build #Apps for #iOS without a #Mac & #XCode and a #subscription!
#Rooting a new #Xiaomi device is getting totally ridiculous these days.
I already jumped through the hoop to "request bootloader unlock permission" in one of Xiaomi's #bloatware apps at **EXACTLY** midnight beijing time, at least this worked. Now the second step would be to actually unlock the boot loader. On #FreeBSD, I can't use Xiaomi's unlocker tool (but I guess that's actually a good thing), so I found some python script that also works (after a bit of fiddling with it, patching shebang and removing some nonsense), and see what it tells me now.

Gravenstein scion wood from 2024 that's been in the refrigerator. I saw a forum post mentioning they had some old scion wood that was callused up so I went and looked at mine and some of it was callused up so I stuck it in some water and put a bag over it the other day. It was already leafed out and I didn't expect those to turn green but they did. Wait and see if the callus grows roots.
