When Win95 was first released, I was doing PC sales, repairs, and support with a small independent PC shop. One of our business customers was an insurance broker, with roughly a dozen PCs on an ethernet network.
They had us upgrade their 3.11 machines to Win95. Boss was a bit of a technophile. But like businesses everywhere, whoever spec'd the employee machines skimped on everything. They were 386s (DX, at least, not SX) with 4MB of RAM.
To say Win95 crawled on those machines is an understatement. Literal minutes - like 5 - to boot up to usability. Alt-tabbing to switch applications gave a 5-10s pause before the task switcher appeared, never mind the actual switched-to application. It could easily take a minute to switch between apps.
And the boss was thrilled. ?!?!? I know the employees sure weren't.

🎉 Right, all good, it was the lack of memory.
So keep in mind if you’re going to update a server that has 512MB memory from Ubuntu 20.04 to 22.04 that 22.04 requires a minimum of 1GB to boot.
It would be a neat if, say, oh, I don’t know, do-release-upgrade actually checked how much memory your system has and told you that before carrying out the upgrade and throwing you into a kernel panic on first boot.
The Phantom Liberty Should've been Delayed again, otherwise it'll be a Disaster at launch. i might get 25FPS even on LOWEST Settings with DLSS/FSR! i hope CDPR gets a lesson on Downgrading VRam requirement! i have RTX 3050 Laptop and while it's too weak for Ray Tracing mode! at least my current version before 1.7 i think... that runs bit smooth!
