He estado durante un día entero rompiéndome la cabeza para conectar un proyecto de #RubyOnRails creado con contenedor de #Toolbx basado en #Fedora con una base de datos #PostgreSQL metido en un contenedor de #Podman (en realidad #Docker, pero lo he adaptado).
La realidad es que, pese al error que me aparecía, parece que la base de datos se ha estado creando y que es capaz de conectar cuando pongo el servidor en marcha.
En serio, estas cosas me vuelan la cabeza.

Playing around with #toolbx and #distrobox. Very nice tools which suit my workflow.
I especially like that I can set an override $HOME in a distrobox to keep the clutter seperated.
I used to spend time updating individual Toolbox instances with apt or dnf. My new method is to nuke ALL OF THEM and the images that made them and start from scratch with new images on a fairly regular basis.
Still wondering if I shouldn't just layer Distrobox and make my life (comparatively) easier.
Played around with #DevContainers this morning. It’s nothing you couldn’t do yourself with #docker or #podman or #toolbx but I have to say the convenience of it and the integration with the IDE makes it extremely easy to get started with compared to building your own containerised dev environment. https://containers.dev/
why did it never occur to me before to install regular packages inside a #toolbx container before & alias them with a `.desktop` file 🤦♀️

I think I've been running Fedora Silverblue for three releases now — at least a year and a half — and it is a very solid system.
Right now I'm happy about recent steps to improve the boot system (bootc) and the introduction of the ptyxis terminal to provide better integration for Toolbx/Distrobox/etc.
Recent improvements in GNOME — especially in Files — are also nice to see.

I discovered that while my login on my #Silverblue system is in the dialout group, I'm not in the dialout group in my #toolbx container where I have programs installed that need to talk to (USB) serial devices!
How do I modify an existing toolbx container so that when I toolbox enter into it, my user is in the dialout group?
In another "just works" post on #fedora 40 #kde, I connected my Fujitsu iX500 scanner to my laptop wondering how easy it would be get it working.
I discovered the sane project, and created a new #toolbx container running Ubuntu to get it installed. It worked, but I wanted a native GUI.
Then I discovered that KDE has Skanpage, which immediately recognized the scanner and worked. No need for the additional toolbx container, no need to download Fujitsu's frontend - all great.
A new #toolbx bug-fix release is now available that polishes various corner cases related to the proprietary NVIDIA driver: https://github.com/containers/toolbox/releases/tag/0.1.1
