Hello, caneandable.social! I'm Lanie, a 33-year-old #Christian woman from Pipe Creek, TX. I'm #aroace, #TotallyBlind, #ActuallyAutistic, and living with multiple #ChronicIllnesses. I've just moved over from tweesecake.social, so I'm excited to meet new people and reconnect with familiar faces!

Some of my #health conditions include occipital neuralgia, intracranial hypertension, Empty Sella Syndrome, fibromyalgia, hidradenitis suppurativa, GERD, gastroparesis, IBS, sleep apnea, migraines, and non-24-hour sleep-wake disorder.

I use various devices to navigate the digital world, including a Windows computer, iPhone, Android tablet, Fire TV, Echo Dot, Apple Watch, wireless headphones, and a Braille display. #AssistiveTechnology

love when people ask as I am managing my dog or rewarding her, "Is she in training?" The thing is, they're always in training. Yes, they have been formally trained, but like us, their learning doesn't stop when they complete formal training and are issued. If a dog is being asked to do anything, go anywhere, etc, it is in "training", just as we are as we move through the world. #totallyblind #travel #nuisance

The difference is that I try to do as I say. I find so many people have a do as I say, not as I do philosophy. @scoots @Kingsrook Absolutely agree. #totallyblind As someone who is completely #blind, putting image descriptions isn't always the easiest thing, as I'm often relaying what a sighted person has told me is in the image, or I'm just relying on my phone's #AI ability to give me an educated and potentially unrelyable glance.

Anyone know why uploading #videos seems to work better using #Medbbatext vs #Too? I always thought Brent was the cutest, and was surprised how often he was fat shamed. Someone who eats like he does might die a little younger, but at least they'll die happy.

This was inspired by someone who texts one sentence at a time, which I find extremely annoying! It might not be so bad, except I'm #totallyblind and I'm using an #iphone with #VoiceOver. I tend to text just how I write my posts, sometimes novels, but I try NOT to write multiple posts of one sentence. What's your preferred texting method? #introductions

People who have lost their sight, obviously can easily understand, but someone who has never had it, like myself, gets exhausted and frustrated at trying to sort out all the meanings of these annoying things. On #Twitter especially, there are so many animated ways to react that I totally don't get. Naturally, it reflects how real people would express themselves, absolutely awesome, but for the #TotallyBlind from #birth, our understanding of animation might be limited. #disability #TBC 2/3

And if anyone is wondering why a #TotallyBlind person didn't add an image description, it's because I cleverly hid it in the hashtag, LOL. Plus, anyone with a half-decent phone should be able to gather enough info from what the AI tells them. #disability #inclusion
