My Aurora desktop 😊
Ptyxis terminal is great for toolbox container integration. I'm used to a Quake-style dropdown terminal, so I'd like to find a way to hide/show the terminal window with a keyboard shortcut (alt+z). There is possibly a way to do it by writing a kwin script.
I'm eventually going to build my own custom image with the ublue-os/image-template repository.

Ptyxis seems like it would make using toolbox/distroboxes convenient. One thing I'm iffy about is possibly having to layer Prometheus node_exporter. The only way to run it in a container that is able to read the right system information would be to run podman as root. But most things that I run locally should be able to run just as well and seamlessly in rootless containers. These include ntfy, Grafana, Prometheus. Podman Desktop would make this easy.
The defaults listed on this page seem great. Tailscale, Flathub out of the box. The Aurora DX developer mode seems pretty interesting.

@thelinuxEXP Thank you for making this follow-up video and included Fedora Plasma Mobile. While not many people seem to be interested in Linux tablets at the moment, I was one of the few that watched both videos.
I do have a Lenovo 2-in1 tablet running Auora, although if they ever do provide Plasma Mobile images, I would rebase to that.
I am very happy with my new work laptop. It's a Framework AMD 13 which I have of course installed https://getaurora.dev on.
Thanks to everyone who made suggestions when I was trying to make the decision a couple of weeks ago.
It does look like I'm getting in just before they announce the new generation, but this will be *plenty* fast for what I need.

I’ve finally got around to installing #ublueaurora on my main personal laptop, a 10 year old 11” MacBook Air.
Credit to @jorge and @UniversalBlue for engaging with the bullshit required to get the Broadcom WiFi working out if the box. *chef’s kiss*
Everything seems to work perfectly except the webcam but that is a nightmare under Linux so I’ll survive.
I’ve been playing with one of my terrible Chromebooks again.
I might need to accept that #uBlueAurora is not the right fit for an underpowered laptop with 4GB RAM and 16GB eMMC drive.
It’s a shame because I want to run it on everything, I’m mildly obsessed. 😆 Oh well, time for some distro hopping! #linux #universalblue
@trzyglow just in case you find this interesting, there is project called topgrade that should handle both arch and flapack updates https://github.com/topgrade-rs/topgrade. The #ublueaurora people are using it and it runs in background via systemd timers, quite a neat solution to keep everything updated in the system. I think it even updates distrobox containers, at least that's the case in #ublueaurora

Things That Happened While I Was Away (Pt. 2)
My lappy's mobo simply died the morning after I wrote my exam (just a power light, nothin' else), but luckily I had a parts machine, as I built my laptop out of two laptops. The other mobo was dead as it was struck by lightning, and it was just dead when we tested it last year. I decided to try that supposedly "dead" mobo as a last resort, and low and behold, it hecking works!
So now I have a frankenstein'ed Dell Vostro 2521 with an Inspiron 3537 motherboard inside (with an i5-4200U, which is an upgrade from my i3-3217u)!

Ooh it's #uBlueAurora Fedora 41 day! My system downloaded the new image while I was working and I'm about to reboot into a whole new version.
Absolutely magic.
Bluefin GTS is now available with Fedora 40! As the slower cadence custom image, you will now enjoy 6 months on the previous version of Fedora.

Keep in mind that this is not the official release for Fedora nor for us. This is basically so you can try the beta and will require rebasing. Once Fedora does the stable release then we will work on transitioning all of our channels.
Another small update for Bluefin and Aurora! The main thing this go around is the addition of a new channel, the `stable-daily` channel. All about finding the update frequency sweet spot for folks. Please give us feedback on that channel!
