Take this with a grain of salt, because:
A) "BetaNews" is often clickbait 'journalism' (as evidenced by their series of what I'm generously going to call 'articles' re: #Windows12 .. which isn't even a real thing, but rather based on a 'concept video' someone made)
B) the actual study was commissioned by (IDM vendor) CyberArk.. so the results are pretty self-serving.
Having said that, #ShadowIT has been a real thing pretty much for as long as computers have existed and article rightfully points out that 'executives' are often t he worst offenders of bad security practices

#Windows10, j'y suis, j'y reste. Je touche pas #Windows11 même avec un bâton. Au boulot j'ai bloqué toute MAJ au-delà de W10 22H2 sur l'ensemble du parc par GPO et empêché toute possibilité d'upgrade à la demande de l'utilisateur.

If there is no #Windows12 coming next fall, then its likely not gonna be until 2027 or 2028. My theory is #Microsoft is likely using a lifecycle similar to #Windows10
@osnews #Windows12 is likely gonna first embark on this journey and I believe #ARM will be the flagship/Hero platform for cloud first device. The advantage really is to bring Windows into a subscription model and simplify the ease and troubleshooting of Windows devices. Microsoft will worry about the updates and security, that will be the selling point. Also, I see streaming model for apps to solve the app compatibility gap.
the linux version of chrome is essentialy private space for chromeOS, because its essentially a version of the chrome browser that's *not* tied to the operating system itself.
this was not the case with lacros, which, while allowing multiple chrome profiles, was still tied to the os.
and that is why, i think, google should legitimately make and maybe market something more like *that* as a "thing".
it's better than lacros.
