Almost two years later I'm moving back here, @emacs.ch is shutting down.
Almost two years later I'm moving back here, @emacs.ch is shutting down.
I'm moving to @adham@emacs.ch for the following two reasons
1) Cool :emacs: emoji
2) Being in a more focused community since many of my posts have been and will be Emacs-ecosystem related!
#Emacs users, how do you benefit from `org-cycle-agenda-files`? I often find myself rebinding its keys to `company-complete` or other functions.
@TeXhackse I see, I should read up more on the TeX compilation process then, thanks for pointing that out!
@acowley In my perfect setup everything is under /code and it's all org files using literate programming :D
I haven't actually tested this before so I might give it a shot soon
Liblast 0.1.7 pre-alpha is here!
https://codeberg.org/Liblast/Liblast/releases/tag/0.1.7_pre-alpha
An iterative release bringing a few fun new features and lots of small fixes all over the place.
You can now host a game in a local network, start Liblast on other machines and within a few seconds they should discover the running server and let everyone connect to it with a single click!
Also gibbing :D
#Liblast #Godot #Godot4 #GodotEngine #Game #IndieGame #IndieDev #GameDev #FPS #Multiplayer #OpenSource #FOSS #Libre #FreeSoftware
@ecadre I didn't think of this :D
A questions for #Linux users, do you put #LaTeX source files under ~/docs/latex or ~/code/latex
The question can seem superficial at the surface but the idea is "Since .tex files are code that gets compiled they are `code`" or are they files for notes and thus go under a more document-like directory such as ~/docs/latex or ~/notes/latex
@ringtailringo I see, I was never a vim user so I never found it appealing but the elegance aspect is something I admire. Still I can't imagine my workflow without org, magit and lsp in Emacs, I think there's elegance in the mastery of the tool rather than the tool itself and that is one of the reasons for why I have stuck with Emacs.
Good luck on your Emacs journey!
@ringtailringo Why would you even consider to get out of it? and yes finding random useful functions is a rush
I think time for reflection and review is vital and must be allocated and protected against all distraction and delay. To lose that time is to lose the ability to grow and understand yourself.
@axantoni I agree, I have 2 laptops each 8 years old running Linux. At the same time it's still a shame to have such issues because a user with less experience or determination might just give up and go back to Windows.
@axantoni Unfortunately I had to leave Fedora and GNOME because of power management issues, I'm now on Debian/Stable+KDE. My laptop would crash on battery withing minutes or even seconds of having it disconnected from the wall.
My only issues so far are that my Nvidia GPU just doesn't work and trying any guide breaks #grub2 :/
No longer considering, the jump was made last week and it's great, didn't expect #Gnome to be this cozy
Tonight's game session is #Worms <3
