Been thinking a lot about everything that concerns me, and I recommend not doing that
What's horrifying about this graph is that we're emitting CO2 from fossil hydrocarbons NOW at four times the rate we were when I was a child, and twice the rate we were in 1972, when we already knew that #ClimateChange was an existential problem.
Energy affordability has been a hot topic.

Thinking about powering a small Arduino project with a solar panel and backup battery.
What setups or components have worked well for you? Any pitfalls to avoid? ☀️🔋

I like #Python books and reading source code for inspiration, but don't underestimate the power of the docs.
This week I learned that uuid now supports v7 and that random + sqlite3 added command-line scripts in recent versions.
The coming water wars.
"Water has quietly become one of the most important variables in the global economy. As climate pressures intensify and artificial intelligence accelerates energy and water demand, the world’s most basic resource is proving to be its most undervalued. From data centers and factories to farms and cities, the ability to secure, manage, and price water now shapes everything from credit ratings to national stability."
To introduce myself a bit more, I thought I’d explain my handle. I’ve been using variations of “cadalac” as usernames on different platforms for years. The origin is kind of funny—back when I was playing a video game, a friend regularly misspelled Cadillac as “cadalac”. I liked it, kept it, and it’s stuck with me ever since!

My latest blog post: Cheap and Dirty 5-volt Supply
https://mikecoats.com/cheap-dirty-5v-supply/
The old adage goes, 'if it's stupid, but it works, then it's not stupid.' This is possibly the cheapest and dirtiest 5-volt power supply money can buy.
I've been working on several projects lately, including some fun Arduino and environmental tech builds!
