This update brings solid quality-of-life improvements, especially for #Docker and dynamic environments like #Kubernetes.

⚠️ Important: Docker acquisition now relies on the Docker events API. If you're using a socket proxy, make sure it allows access to this endpoint.

🔧 Highlights:
• Docker acquisition is now event-driven — no more polling for new containers
• Log processors can now gracefully unregister from LAPI on shutdown
• Allowlists now automatically remove matching decisions when updated
• PAPI is auto-enabled/disabled based on your Console plan — making setup a breeze

I may have found a solution to the problem, which would be to use 'docker network create' with the ipvlan driver. That seems to be a mechanism that will allow the container to appear as a new IP on the same network segment as the host. I think that the macvlan driver could also be used for this purpose, but it would create an additional virtual network interface with its own MAC, which I don't think I need.

I am trying to figure out how to assign a second IP to an existing network interface in Linux and have all outgoing traffic from a specific Docker container be sent from that second host IP address while all other traffic from the host uses the first address.

I found a nice article by @nixCraft explaining how to assign a second IP address for a network interface in Linux (glad once again to support his Patreon), but I'm not sure how to make the container use that IP for outgoing traffic nor whether other applications may send traffic using that IP. If anyone reads this who happens to know those answers (or where to find them easily), I'd appreciate a little help.

I've found #debian #bookworm with the #xfce desktop to be incredibly stable. Uptime in the months, it has been my main 24/7 desktop.

I have moved to #trixie now that it's 'almost here' and am trialling the #kde desktop. Whilst it looks good and is performant, the stability of #plasma6 isn't there yet, some features are not yet available that were in qt5, and I've had a couple of widgets crash.

I've also noted a few of the apps I ran in #bookworm are not available in #trixie, so I may need to look into more #docker images to run those.

The #avidemux app will not compile against #qt6 on #trixie for some reason, so I've had to compile that against #qt5, where it seems to work fine. Need this as #dvbcut is one of the apps I use that is not available in #trixie

Overall, #trixie is looking to be a stable release. I'm just not convinced I'll stay with #kde and may revert to #xfce again, or perhaps try the #CinnamonDesktop again.
