The Benin Bronzes are home, but true decolonization hasn't begun yet. I still see it when Western museums are surprised the Oba doesn't follow their plan, when they document infrastructure 'deficiencies' as if they have a right to judge.
Respect also means accepting choices that don't align with our standards.

First of all, the 'United States' is a nation founded within and funded through theft from American Indian and other #IndigenousPeoples. While many people know this as fact, to many people this is brand new information. Second, this podcast is a statement about the need to shift how we talk and label. It is a linguistic shift. In a world where human bodies are constantly re-labelled (e.g. in terms of gender, disability, etc.) all non-Indigenous Americans enjoy a world in which colonial labels placed on stolen Indigenous lands, waters and spaces have become permanent and enduring. In this series of conversations, you are invited into conversations about how these #colonial, #genocidal processes are playing out across the United States – and how they tie into world orders. "At its core, solarpunk envisions a world reorganized around #RenewableEnergy, genuine #cooperation, and #SustainableDesign that doesn’t sacrifice beauty or dignity in the process.
